The gameplay is really fun, but god it gets tedious. It's not that I'm only playing for the badges, but I've played level 4 about a dozen times now, each time I get enough gems for about one upgrade, and don't seem to be actually making any forward progress--I don't think I'm even making it further in the level than I was before, though it's hard to tell. It may be possible for the game's creator to beat it "easily" without taking a hit, but if someone doesn't have that level of skill, it takes a long, long time to get enough upgrades to make any significant improvements.
IMO, the key thing with whether a game is "grindy" isn't how easy or hard it is, but how many times you have to play a level to beat it once you get stuck. You can have a challenging game, but still give players enough of a reward when they die that they can make it to the next checkpoint/level/boss without replaying the same level to the point of boredom.
I really don't know what to tell you. Are you investing in lives? Are you using your ultimate attack to heal? The main campaign was designed with being able to finish the game with your weapons around lvl 15. It sounds like your at that point already. The game is not going to beat itself. If you are dying constantly you need to re-think your strategy. Manage your special meter, be sure to heal with your ultimate, dodge as much as you can and roll if you need to. You can do this!!!
@yash92: You need to take off one blue and one red on each iteration of the loop. You'll need to find a way to "remember" where the beginning of the input is each pass.
Click and hold has also stopped working for me. It was working fine for long enough to complete all the levels, then I just came back and now it always flags on the first click, then digs about half the time on a second click. Did you change the way the controls work behind the scenes?
This game lags like no other game I've ever played--I literally can't beat the last level in time. So frustrating that this game is part of a quest, and that the dev hasn't done anything to fix it. I liked the first three levels fine, but the timer just makes this impossible.
Kenaron, Reckless gets really lucky sometimes and really unlucky other times because it takes crazy risks. It's come from way behind to beat me, but other times I win by 9800 points because he gets so many zilches. If the computer is getting more re-rolls than you, it's because you play more cautiously than it.
