I REALLY wanted to give this a 5. The music and the atmosphere both are brilliant, and as graphic adventure, it really works. Problem is in the execution, it simply can't overcome the feeling that I'm running in circles, and worse yet, that nothing in the world really poses a threat. Just Go to Point A, find Point B, do C, then back to A. A brilliant coat of paint doesn't fix the fundamental issue. 4/5
This game rocked, straight up. I was having a ton of fun all the way through. I'm about to tackle the postgame, but I can EASILY call this 5/5. Superb!
BTW. Treasure Hunter joke at the beginning? Yeah, I got it. Great stuff!
Ugh... I wanted to rate this game higher... mostly because there's SO MUCH game here, and a lot of work was put into it. But sadly, despite that, the gameplay was unbalanced and stale, and the maps were uninteresting. I can't give this more than a 3.
Okay, I must have done a bajillion Wanderer Battles at this point, and yes I had a character with "Avatar" as their name. I cannot recreate the original error, so whatever you guys did, you fixed it. Thanks for the awesome work.
Sorry to now triple post, but this just got weirder. I reloaded the game on one computer, and the new guy came up. I loaded it on my laptop, and now I have the party I'm supposed to have back. I'm no coding master or anything, but it seems to me the problem MAY be with name recognition? Both my original party member and her replacement are named "Avatar," and they switched when accessing the Wanderer battle, which strikes me as a callup the server didn't correct.
Okay, so I just came across a glitch. I entered into a Wanderer Battle, and one of my party members changed. I had a Lv. 21 with a Golden Sting weapon, replaced for no good reason in the middle of a dungeon with a Lv. 25 "Avatar" (someone forgot to name their toon, apparently - a common problem) with a katana greatsword. Seriously, what the hell?
Okay, I've played through two chapters of the game already, and I have a sound implementation recommendation: On the Wanderer battles, you should play the Legion Battle music, not the normal battle. Wanderer seems to be PvP, but it's treated as no more than a regular fight. I'd recommend using the less common music to give it some mystique.
So um, I gotta say, I really like this game. Brings back memories, especially the battle system. Which leads me to my question: Any chance of Soul Crushes at any point?
So I beat this thing, and my final score was only 1 point off from my last recorded IQ. I don't know whether that's coincidence or just scarily accurate. I approve. 4/5
How can a work be simultaneously derivative and pretentious? I don't understand how a concept with so much potential could fall so flat. This doesn't say anything real, there's almost no "game" here. Technically apt, odd art style, and horrific music. 2/5
Speaking as a sound guy, I have to say, this is a beautiful and fun little game. Wish it was a bit longer, but honestly, I'm very pleased with the experience. Thanks! 5/5
Hmm you loaded it on same time ? It will mess up if you doing it.
