Level 8, no matter what I seem to try I can't break the time speed requirement, it's a straight line run with some timed jumps, at best pace I can only do it in 18 secs. How are you meant to do it in under 14?
If you have some other form of multimedia open it can interfer with the game making it not work at all, not sure what I can do about that on my side at the moment. Still figuring it out. My advice is shut down videos and other music that's playing so you can enjoy the game.
If you have a bug with the character not moving, can you tell me if you have another other MP3's playing in the background. There might be an issue there.
Thank you all for your comments and suggestions, this is exactly the kind of stuff I need to improve on this game. The fourth iteration of the game will take most, if not all, your suggestions and hopefully make it a better game overall.
@tron911: That's a really good idea, it'll clean out the game play area of unneeded pickups and I can just keep a running count of them which you can use in your own time. I was also thinking of using the dollar icons as cash you can pick up which you can use to purchase additional upgrades with.
Everyone please feel free to offer suggestions, I'll be taking notes and implementing stuff for the next version where we'll see more fun stuff to actually do within the game.
@Sypro: In the instructions, both in game and below the game, it tells you that you have to pay 1 gem for each level of pickaxe you have and 1 gem for each 2 whole pieces of dynamite you have at the end of the round. So yes, you will collect 10+ but always receive at least one less that you collected. I will probably put an intro screen for instructions in at some point (skippable) so that the game is clearer in later versions.
In the next version I am looking to add in cave-ins, cave like creatures, a new upgrade for movement speed, diamond detector and anything else that seems good or comes via suggestions.
If anyone gets stuck you can clear levels very quickly if you're Lu Bu (not sure about the others). Just scroll immediately to the opponents castle and start moving there, use demonrage to get you there faster. Quickly dispatch his first troops and tower and then use demonrage again and dispatch the general. Each fight lasts less than a minute that way.
Slight bug, fell through the floor and picked up speed, respawned still going fast and fell through the floor and got stuck in an infinite loop of falling and never appearing again.
One thing that was suggested which I haven't gotten around to including yet is a market to show where you're going to fire. Another thing was to keep the explosions around at maximum size for a bit longer to help you get chain effects going more easily.
I've also got a new game engine that I've been working for these games, should introduce game waves more smoothly (and properly) and a game shop too! So hope you all enjoy this, glad to listen to ideas and will see about implementing them into the next version.
@blubbernuggets: Is it? I got it from flashkit.com under their freeware license, I'll have to check out hands of war and compare the music, I don't want to use someone who ripped of someone's else music :(
@undefeatables1: I'll definately consider that, this is just meant as a prototype to make sure the basic concept works etc. That would certainly give it a new aspect in which to develop it towards, storyline and levels. Obviously just have to think of the storyline and concept for it now :P
Sometimes kongregate doesn't update that quickly on the chat bar so you don't always see it update immediately, sometimes takes a few to update itself.
