Very nice game here. One issue with the gliding, it seems that the starts aren't aligned at the angle the Flubby is falling at least on level 3, maybe the controls just aren't translating the right way between the mouse and touch. Also the camera zoom effect can be a little annoying, might be better to have a pinch zoom. Also the level design, in terms of collecting stars is kind of confusing. On level 6 for example the stars are set up in a way that you think you can just follow them directly to the exit, except you have to back track and pick up stars that you skipped in order to complete the level. As far as the level goals, it seems like there could be bronze/silver/gold based on how many stars you collect. Then an entirely different game mode for fastest time to the goal and another mode for complete with x number of jumps. Just my 2 cents.
not getting audio on osx here either ... could be an issue with the audiolistner?
The controls are strange because they aren't relative to the angle of the camera ... I can't really get a hang of it.
This is a good game play idea. I think some sort of compass would be helpful ... giving the players current direction and/or a direction arrow pointing to the goal.
Is this a marriage sim? he goes out, does all the work while she is sitting around doing nothing, he brings back gifts and she doesn't even pretend to be impressed, then he just dies of old age and she didn't even make him a sandwich!
This is a really good game. A few things, at first I didn't know what was speeding up the ball because the arrows blend in a little too much with the floor colors. When in air the shadow helps, but it is kind of difficult to figure out where the ball is going to land sometimes. Maybe add some sort of bright target on the floor that follows the ball location when in air to help land jumps. Also it would be nice to have a camera shot of the entire level before the level starts then zoom into the starting position.
I like it. some ideas: if the upgrade stuff is going to be onscreen during the game, make it smaller. upgrading with number keys would be easier. upgrade buttons could change color when they are available to use. the black on dark grey colors are difficult to read. auto fire would be nice and the game seems to get laggy after a while. seems to be no end to it? maybe reaching a certain momentum should start up a new level?
hm, it should send you to the ending sequence when you reach 1000, did it not do that? I wanted to make the feeling that as the pilot you needed to manage your ship and upgrades at the same time, though if that's annoying I'll be sure to make the upgrade system work in a pause menu in the future.
This gets pretty fun once it gets going. Id like the paddle to just follow the position of the mouse, right now when the mouse is off screen the paddle will continue moving before the mouse is back on screen.
issues with the ball movement ... when the ball is in the air going one direction it can't be turned. also the building up to higher jumps is difficult to do with the platforms close together like they are.
The creepy cube man was staring at me ... he extended his arms to give me some sort of a hug ... I ran as fast as I could, I turned around to look back at him and he was still after me ... I ran to the edge of the world ... no way to escape ... he got closer ... I jumped off an as I fell I could see his cold eyes locked on me as I plummet to my demise ... 3/5
This looks great! There seems to be a lot happening, but nothing for the player to necessarily do. I think a clear goal to get from point A to point B would be nice. Along the way the challenge could be jumping from moving platforms, timed hazards/objects to avoid, puzzles using switches/levers, wind pushing the ball around or any other platform game challenge. Another incentive could just be coins to collect within a level, or items to find/destroy in a set time etc.
Pretty good. A few things to improve, the collision area of the player ship is really big, so it is difficult to avoid ships and bullets in the small screen space. Also the upgrades are difficult to afford at first.
wait a minute ... why are the penguins wearing suicide vests? And if the turtles took over the world, why do they seem so peaceful while being attacked by penguins?
If your artistic game is going to be dramatic and sad, you can't have a smiley sun on the screen all the time throughout the game ... especially during the cut scenes ... what is that ??
More to Come Stay Tuned, this is only a Demo. = )
