As ever, your template is quite okay and the game work nicely.
But two things should be worked on:
- With such a graphic style, with lots of details, you should really consider making the images bigger, either by choosing narrower samples or by making the whole game larger. The image size makes also the writings quite unreadables.
- The border between the actuale searching area and the background wasn't clear enough, despite the blur effect it could totally have been a part of the original picture. A good way to avoid players searching for hours in this area would be not to duplicate the background.
Otherwise, the game is still quite cool, with a good atmosphere and making me curious about the comic it is based on.
You should work on increasing graphic quality. And also try to find a way to make the game more challenging. Last thing: not being able to try all the coulours is a bit frustrating...
On the title screen you should write "instructions" instead of option, as nothing can be changed...
Otherwise for a start it is not so bad.
I think the better improvement possible would be to add some damage malus to the score instead of making start the level again after each hit.
A good improvement would be to have only the best stuff kept in the inventory when it's full... because when you're travelling from town to town with 150 diamonds, you don't need any more +1 stick who don't have any sell value...
Two level-2 lasers and one lvel-1 laser by floor and here we go for one fine last level without firing a single shot!
Maybe easy once you've discovered the power of the different guns but still... as it is clearly not a game supposed to become THE one you play on for the next two years, it is really a good game!
One point only, I don't see the link between the main character and the rest of the game... (who would wear this kind of hat in this kind of corridor?
Okay, so the "portal" thing is that you have put some blue and yellow halo on both side of the screen and that when you miss the ball. it just come back on the other side? Sounds like kind of poor to me... The Portal concept is enoughly complex to allow some further ideas...
I take this for an early flash test, not as a finished game... You should try to use the fact that the ball may go through both side and maybe add some obstacles wich would change from a level to another...
So sad... I've found a quite cool pattern but i'm unable to have it back as the drawing depend of the position of the lines at the moment qhen you enter the speeds....
2/1 for not being able to recreate my pattern...
Would have liked more accurate answers: Frodo is not the only one to bear the ring during the book among the names avaiable (Sam did in minas morgul) and Minas Tirith is not the location of the last battle... Do you remember the Black Gates of Mordor?
One last thing, the "watermark" is kind of annoying...
