For drops you need to kill specific mobs: Bunny = wood or leather, Rat = Copper, Killer Plant = wood and iron, Croc mutant = Iron, Bird = Coal, Bat Swarm = Limestone, bear = ??. Even with 90+ luck things drop maybe 1 in 10 but the rate appears to drop the higher the level of the zone. So you need to 1 shot everything. I can farm area 55 and one shot nearly everything except the bear with copper sword +250 and leather +300. My attack and armor is 25371 and 11452. The huge bonuses on the low material items make them far better than the base upper tier items. my copper sword +250 is +1836, +783%, +803%, +828% and the base Steel Sword is +600, +250%, +250%, +250%. best thing to to is to get the game to the point where everything is Idle, auto-fight + auto-train + auto+gold. invest in the shopkeeper until max employees and at least 10000+ cost for materials.
here's a big tip.. if your colonist is wandering off, click him/her and then look at the detail box a little tab with a hand pop's up, click that and the colonist is now floating in the air, safe from death, and now you can drop him next to the med station..
jan 28th, nice.. it made me change my build order, my normal strategy would have just failed. first move to the low island north of your position. then build 1 or 2 collectors to cover the island, then build as few relays as possible to get the other 2 upgrades. upgrade build speed, extra power, lower cost. fill in near your base with reactors leave 5-6 spaces open for 3 drones and 2-3 sams. you should leave 1 relay on your island nearest large land mass. use drones to open up land mass, then use relay bridge to build on land. use blasters to shutdown top spring. build sams as needed, use speed. done in 15 minutes.
lvl 14, start with a level 2 fisher at the intersection where the 2 paths meet, put an archer on a corner of the 5 square island. upgrade the fisher to 3 and the archer to 2. add a tamer near the fisher between him and the entrance, then add another for the other entrance, use boxes to have the tamer attack where you want. then get the archer to 3, add a fisher next to him, get him to 2, add another fisher to the intersection, get tamers to 2, add 2 more tamers closer to the entrance, with separate boxes. get the tamers to 2, add a archer near the first fisher, get him to 3. get all fishers to 3, then all tamers. add frogs as needed. now just add archers to the island. and more fishers as you can. don't worry about leaks, it will happen. perfect is very hard without dancers.
difficulty curve is pretty high, as you have to pass levels to enable features (shop, unit info, bestiary) and then you need to earn enough shells to buy the upgrades. basically you will want to setup a 3 in a row linear strategy, first tamers, then fishers, then archers all backed around a dancer. all of the water levels can be completed perfect this way.
the reason it works is that the tamer herself is the most important unit in the game because her whip = weaken, the pets are incidental in the late game, really you don't need to bother with them much. then the fisher get a massive bonus in water. and the archer is for the sky. the dancer which is one of the last units you can get in the first 16 levels, is both haste/attack buff.
im done for now (16 perfect), waiting for the second half. good job!!
i finished this game once. and it seems one dimensional. as i cannot see how any other class other than wizard can survive, since high level monsters one shot you. so to win, you need 2 fireball, magic mirror and charm. heal is optional, switch it out with reveal map after each level. so basic tactic is block and snipe. use magic mirror or charm to block, fire off 2 fireballs, run away to reset spells. rinse and repeat. on the final level you need to clear the level, and kill the last minotaur, there are a bunch of minotaurs so its a lot of running. make sure you know where its safe to run, so open only a minimum number of doors (reveal map is great) since monster don't open doors, and clear rooms as a safe havens.
well i finished this. Its not as hard as the comments say. The progression should be focus on archers and archer abilities. both are important but, the criticals are the most useful. don't bother upgrading the base warrior. knights are useful, but don't upgrade them much. add 1-2 defense towers, then build starting AP buildings. from there add AP regen. max out AP bonus buildings. then focus on TOR, lower their cost, and add TOR Wall (most important). max out archers for the last 1/3 of the game. lower cost of knights.
you will mostly spend on archers everywhere on the screen, then TOR with a knight at the choke points. archers +critical = strong even at level 1. the TOR mostly suck without WALL. the knights are just their to help AP generation.
the keys to this game are "shift + click" to put down multiple defenses, and Hot Keys 1 - 7.
also don't research all of the viruses. only the bat, bubble, spammer, space ship. alternate the three types, but when you can make the ship you've won. save resources to get 7 ships and enough to follow with spammers. launch viruses by running your finger from 7 --> 1 no typing or clicking.
defend with the area effect towers on rows 2/4/6 and then backup with general cannons and resistors to slow them down. $$ first then processing.
This would have been an easier badge, if i could sort the map to show only the "tyrian" quest line. As it is, all the little flags look the same as most of the flags are shades of blue... and all of them say "storyline" and all of the persistent flags are "storyline" so it ends up as one big mess. I did get the badge, only after i finished the main questline.
the last tyrian quest is named "Don't you open that trap door" not "the root of all evil". :P
One of the strongest characters is Kitilid/Magus. the only problem is hes ugly. if you play this dump all your points into INT and then Will. you will mostly be throwing spells Ignite/swarm rather than fighting. also you will only need to find Shield to mostly complete this character. later you will use Massive swarm.. other than shield those spells are racial/job skills. very sweet combo. earned $100k+ on newgrounds.
finally got hard 4 towers double + eye, then all fire, then 4 cannon + eye pointing back, then 5 cannon forward. space between each except 2 space between cannon towers. pressing down to delete blocks is essential. lol
interesting game, but near the final levels all you need are 3 tower types, ping, slow, and beam. all of them equipped with range. ping with +damage %. the others with fork and ricochet.
for level 30 use the trash can to erase bad tiles, keep shift down to remove multiple tiles. keep at least 20 memory at all times to erase. lead with a fully upgraded slow. then add pings in stacks of 2, they hit really hard that way. then add the beam that is a to fill in space and kill spawners. once you understand the method then getting all 250 data cores is not that tough.
the most effective strategy for this game is to effectively use "weaken" on mages. it works for the whole game and it ignores base damage type. so simply use a basic mage with the weaken skill branch, element is not important. then place the mage in a position in front of bunch of paved tiles. the follow the "weaken" branch as you gain exp. behind the mage place the correct elemental units for the level (usually only really need 2 types of damage), these units should follow the damage branch (middle). so then what happens is that the weaken mages act like damage multipliers even if they do 0 damage. the damager units will then hit very hard say like 40+ pet hit on the ancient corrupter with no upgrades, and moderately upgraded will hit for like 100ish. makes it pretty easy.
