I can't decide what I like more. The astonishingly bad writing, the fact that refugees are colored for maximum invisibility, the fact that refugees are affected by your spells, the fact that allies will just shoot refugees if there's a zombie behind them, or the fact that the worst part of every zombie shooter is starting with a pistol and this game goes all-in with just a boring pistol.
What is the point of combining gems? Combine three gems of the same stat and the result isn't as good as a single gem of that type. Combine three of different types and the result is a higher tier gem with multiple stats but lower amounts of those stats. For example, I have three gems with 77 total stat boosts between them, but combining them results in a gem with less than 40 total stat bonus. I get that it saves space, but there aren't that many stats worth pumping anyways, and a few high-tier gems are fine.
Magic seems mostly worthless except for the cure spell. The ticking noise of regenerating magic is super annoying. Movement is so slow and upgrades slowly. Needs more variety with weapons, magic and enemies. Also I didn't find out until floor 6 or 7 that I could trash equips for exp, I was just leaving it all behind.
Damnit NinjaKiwi, include quality buttons in your damn games. This right-click shit takes 20 tries and makes this game even more frustrating than it normally is.
For the love of god allow us to change the order of the hold keys. Some of us can't hold our keyboards like some half-assed guitar and having them upside down is just another layer of unnecessary difficulty.
If you like these and want more, significantly harder ones, check out http://www.amazon.co.uk/505-Games-Pic-Nintendo-DS/dp/B000SZ297Y the game is called PicPic and it's for the Nintendo DS.
Midas Touch spell is bugged, sometimes after casting it, it won't make any matches and will keep recorded the old colors instead of the new for treasure gems, making moves invalid and glitching the game until a valid move is used.
Step 1: Make a Mage. Step 2: Pump Willpower until your cooldown for Ice Nova is 1 second. Step 3: Use Fireball on normal mobs with Nova when they get close. Use Mana Cell if you get hit too often. Step 4: For Champion, Elite, or Unique monsters, use Nova to push them back, move forward, Nova, forward, until you have them pinned against the far wall. Put enough space between you and the wall so that the monster has to move forward to get you, but the wall blocks them from being knocked too far away. Hold Nova until dead or out of mana. If you run out of mana, chug a potion. Congrats, the game is now trivial.
Oh also, play the game as a mage and turn off particle effects: you can no longer see your attacks and have no idea what they are or what they do. Also why does the mage even have a physical attack? Meh. Nothing this game does wasn't done by Hack Slash Crawl better.
