I think I would enjoy this game more if:
1. the enemy does not immediatly start with its entire setup
2. if you build multiple camps and spawn pawns, they don't all come from the last placed camp.
3. there was a description somewhere in the game that would explain the tech-tree and the units, so I don't have to scramble to read through the stats of stuff while the enemy is sending units at me and I need to decide what to do before its too late (trying to figure out strategy and what countered what was super stressful, so I just defaulted to building the basic things that were cheap enough that I could get quick visual feedback of what they did).
how I beat every difficulty: make farms along the border until you reach the lower right corner (dont build a farm on the corner square) build a camp on the corner square, spam pawns, win.
the theoretically highest score possible in this game (unless the developer artificially capped the maximum to, say, the size of an integer) is 9 620 726 743 044.
the highest score of all time as of this writing is 14 007 152, which is less than 1 millionth of the highest possible score. to achieve the highest possible score you will need to make exactly 4 810 363 371 520 moves and every single tile spawned must be a 2 until the last one which can be either 2 or 4. the odds of this happening is 1:2^4 810 363 371 521, which can inadequately be described as "no way". assuming you make 100 moves per second it would take you approximately 1524 years, 113 days, 5 hours and 27 minutes to play such a game.
Dear people that say this game is hard to fail. I dare you to reach 9*10^12 points. get cracking.
a little bit too easy for my taste, but a great game concept and quite entertaining while it lasted, I would recommend adding more mechanics as the game goes on.
how to win: go down until you hit something, then follow the edge of this block either "clockwise" or "counterclockwise", when/if you hit a new block, repeat the procedure by continuing to follow the edge of this block clockwise or counterclockwise, whichever one you chose initially.
if you end up going in a circle (I finished the game without this happening), move away from the wall you are following until you hit a new wall, try with this wall instead.
I will refer to metal squares, when I do I mean the metal squares to the furthest left on level 40, numbered from the bottom (6th square is 6th from the bottom). to beat lvl 40 in 2 bullets: fire 2 bullets in quick succession towards upper left corner (exact pixel) of 6th metal square. to beat level lvl 40 in 1 bullet fire towards the pixel 5 pixels above upper left corner of 6th square. thumbs up so others wont have to feel my pain again.
nice game, but level 40 is really all about trial and error to find the one pixel that ricochets just right. no way in hell any human is willing to figure out all of those ricochets by themselves.
then send him to west castle followed by sending him to west city (again, dont claim the land around castle), fighting should still be going on at east castle, keep supporting them until they manage to destroy the castle, when they do send the weakest one to claim the south castle and magic tower land (the rest should raid the east city and then go towards the north castle, keep supporting them though, they will face resistance), the west castle should also be destroyed by the time he reaches the magic tower, after that he should help the lonely guy with destroying the west town, this strategy beats the stage in about 5 minutes 25 seconds.
final ice mission: build only myrmidons: send 1 troop towards ogre, send another troop toward east castle, freeze ogre when your southern troop is close, freeze opposition at east castle when your northern troop is close, when you get money, build 3 farms and as many myrmidons as you can, send your ogre guy towards south castle, send all reinforcements to east castle. keep freezing enemy troops as often as you can, especially if some are made to fight the south guy, when south castle is destroyed (dont claim the land yet, that wastes time) send south guy to enemy magic tower, if done right he should be able to destroy it (dont claim the land yet) before the enemy can use ultimate
finally got hard badge, final ice mission was really tough, but I beat it by sending 1 guy towards ogre with chest and let that guy go clockwise while the rest of my troops distracted the AI to keep spawning units at them while inching forward counterclockwise, all the while spamming spells like theres no tomorrow
I beat level 75 by following these rules of thumb: 1. split your initial 100 as 50 upwards and 50 to the right, do not upgrade anything until after you have acquired a lab and used it to capture another lab. 2. do not ever let him use a lab to cast a spell. ever. 3. only use the red spell. blue spell is ineffective against everything (he just retakes it if he wants it) goo is ineffective against everything except forts, but you should capture forts, not goo them. 4. if he takes one of your barracks, do not panic, just send enough to take it back. 5 once you have captured all forts (possibly with the exception of those close to boss) your victory is almost certain. quick note: boss produces 10 jellies/s, 7 fully upgraded barracks produce 14 jellies/s, this indicates that if you get all barracks on map fully upgraded, then you should be in a decent position to win, unless he has a lab ready to fire soon.
@arcanoxa
actually, with a bit of math it stays logical and reasonable, the issue is that there are tons of solutions so brute force (guessing) eventually works.
