I think there may be a glitch in hardcore mode. Most enemy tiers have +1 defense over the tier before, but in the second set of floors, the blue beasts have 2 more defense than the enemy tier before them, the blue wizards. After that, the tiers have +1 defense again, making hardcore mode, as far as I can tell, impossible.
Nice and simple, for those who like nice and simple. I felt a little disappointed at how much like a walking simulator it felt for the first 14 levels. Once the challenge finally began after that, it was basically over. Feels like the first 20 in what is meant to be a 200-stage game.
A very interesting concept, great music and graphics. Some things were a little rough, though. On the sacrifice menu, it is really hard to see which option is highlighted if you're using the arrows. It's jarring to have some screens be "press any key to continue," and others, "press enter to continue." And also, I managed to beat several of the levels without using all the elements of the stage; don't know if allowing that was an intentional dev choice or not.
A whole lot of fun. The puzzles look hard, but when you start trying stuff, they're not that bad, which makes you feel really smart as you fly through them. My only gripe is that every time I click the undo button a certain amount of times, the walkthrough flashes at me. I don't want a walkthrough, I'm just trying to backtrack a little!
Fun game, but the annoying head butting in every 5 seconds was a little much. Especially since I skipped through every single dialog and was still able to play just fine.
