For such a short and simple game, I actually found myself enjoying it a lot more than I initially expected. When I got to the end, I actually wished it had been a little bit longer. Only problem I encountered was that when replaying past levels for EXP, the Skip narration function didn't work.
Apparently it only took me an hour and 34 minutes. I could've sworn it was longer. Still, had a lot more fun with this than I first expected. It's a solid 4/5.
After almost a year, I finally got back to beat this game after getting stuck in the crime solving part. Big thanks to Kevlar33 for pointing out the book and Dregg's corpse.
As far as I can tell I've talked to everyone about every single clue and tried to interact with every piece of evidence as far as is possible and am still unable to continue. I'm sure some other day I'll be able to solve it and feel silly for not realizing it sooner, but right now it doesn't feel like I'm solving a mystery as much as clicking every pixel on screen hoping for something new to happen.
@Madara I got the same feeling as you. Depression is an actual illness that messes up the brain's ability to feel happiness. Not just a passing phase of self-loathing and doubt. On the other hand, people making bad decisions based on horrible assumptions that will ultimately only make their lives worse seems to be a theme in this series. And even when they don't, two abyssal kids with their uncle's pet dragon will usually make things worse anyway.
I don't know how to feel about Dregg and Ada. On one hand, I ship them so much. On the other, I feel it would ruin their chemistry if they actually ended up together.
If this is only meant as an experiment to train yourself at making games, then I suppose it has potential for becoming something worth playing eventually. Still don't see why you decided to upload it in its current state.
Not too bad for a quick fun game. In fact, its biggest flaw is only being 15 levels long. A little disappointed that the fully upgraded bonus weapon turned out to be much less effective than the fully upgraded minigun.
Not sure if something is wrong. Despite having 20 visitors, a store doesn't seem to bring any income. In fact, the only thing bringing in any money is the lodge.
I enjoyed it for a while, but eventually it just begins to feel pointless. Putting several hours into building a team doesn't seem that well spent when you lose 5 battles in a row only because the enemy has twice the amount of gladiators.
If I like a game, I usually look for a link to their webpage in the developers profile or the main menu. Having it in the middle of the screen while playing just encourages me to NOT visit Nextplay.
I remember when these people actually made flash games that were innovative for their time. Now it's just sad to see them make the same game over and over again with a new name.
My only complaint if any would be that the abilities seem to change their keys by random when I unlock a new spell. Hitting one key and getting a different result than I'm used to is, uhm unpleasant.
I ruminated a lot, but finally done as it is. I could add all (even locked) spells to the screen and just don't get access to them, but it's not an option for a number of reasons. Key binding by users is also a bad idea.
Thanks :D
