I've been playing this on and off for quite a long time now, and I only just realized that it shows you the sum of your cards next to the deck. Boy am I an idiot-- I've been summing values in my head this entire time.
@Geofferic The only garbage here is your comment. What kind of preeminently ridiculous take is that? You aren't willing to be subjected to the horrors of having to press a "skip" button in order to play an entirely free puzzle game that took many many hours to create? Not to mention that the ad is for a version of this game with 221 levels, costs only 4 bucks, and helps put food Bart's table. This isn't some cash-grab developer, it's a single dude from Belgium that likes making little puzzle games. I wonder what "level of trash one needs to achieve in their personal life" that they are compelled to vomit out such a comment.
Been working on this impossible badge on and off for like 2 or 3 weeks now. Spawning into a level 7 where every possible ending square does at least 7 damage is getting old. There's just so much RNG required to win.
Didn't see the "sell a painting for $1" achievement until my paintings were regularly valued at 100k+... now it seems virtually impossible to sell one for $1 because it gets sold before I can decrease the price enough.
I wanted to figure out what was causing that lag after interacting with anything. Looks like the game just dumps every single variable into a huge base-64 encoded string while saving the game every time you interact with something. Side note to Dave: you need to consolidate your assets on your development pc ;) Looks like it's pulling from C:\Git\, D:\git\, C:\Users\Dave\GitHub\, C:\Users\Dave\Desktop\, C:\Users\Dave\Downloads\, C:\Users\DaveTheAllThing\, and C:\Dave's stuff\Dropbox\!
I hate idle games, and this idle game is one of the most slow, grindiest, and soulless idle games I've played. I'm not even sure if the word played is appropriate. You can't play this game as much as you can sit there doing nothing while it to plays itself against its own imposed time speed limits.
This game desperately needs to put a highlight box that shows you where your portal is going to land. By the time it lands you have absolutely no time to adjust.
Next time a developer wants to make a tutorial that is this long and restrictive, just make it a video and I'll go do some other crap while I'm waiting for the game to start.
I think it might be time for me to retire my Kongregate account.
Lustre-- This game has absolutely nothing to do with Stranger Things, apart from the concept of a doorway to another dimension, which Stranger Things did not invent. In fact, Stranger Things, while one of my favorite shows, has very few original concepts itself.
There appears to be a memory leak on the final stage when returning to the map. (Perhaps all stages-- I've only had to restart the final stage a bunch).
Figured I'd take another shot at Madness after playing the game again for badges. I genuinely don't know how it's possible. I don't seem to be able to find a combination that gives me enough energy to power defenses while still having enough firepower to take out the rapid waves and enough resource generation to prepare for the upcoming waves. I've gotten to maybe 60%, at which point the amount of enemies just overwhelms you. Even with several fully upgraded missile launchers, the delay between shots is enough for the rear half of a pack of swarmers to just tear through your defenses.
You should know that your netcode needs work when you find yourself scoring headshots 3/4 of the way through a sluggish reload animation around the corner from enemies.
Obnoxious guide with large boobs? Check. Forced tutorial that makes you just want to click the buttons to make it go away without reading anything? Check. Forced time wasting at every corner? Check. Link virtually every game feature to an an annoyance with the option allowing players to pay to remove it? Check. Gameplay? Ch... wait, no, we forgot to add that... hey, Kingdom Rush is a game that people like, right? Let's just copy that verbatim but remove all the charm, quirkiness. Let's also copy the voice scripts from KR, but lets pay people we find on the street $2.50 to recite the same lines.
