As someone said earlier, this appears to be a re-release of Chapter 2 in the Gemcraft series, which was released I believe a year or so ago. It's not new or changed by any means, so why it was released again is not something I understand.
Still one of the best flash games I've ever played, if not my all-time favorite. The escalating music along with the rush of survival as the difficulty ramps up is what REALLY makes this game.
Apparently games made almost 2 years ago are considered "hot" and "new". That's ok though, since this overly complex interactive simulator of real-life politics enlightens me on how deep down, we're all scummy politicians.
Closer to 5 years ago. Luckily text-based games never get more dated. The advertising also coincides with the impending release of the first tie-in game for the world (The Lobby).
This is a game that deserves a lot more attention and development, because it has huge potential to be a great Cave Story-esque game that focuses more on platforming and possibly puzzle-solving compared to action. This game needs a revisit without the time constraint to fully deliver a game with a lot more gameplay time and content, and I would definitely throw money at my screen for it. Develop a full-lengthed version of this, greenlight it on Steam, and I will throw money at it.
COMPLETELY underrated game. The score should be hovering around the 3.9~4.1 range, for its solid (and unique) mechanics, dark theme and outstanding music.
So I knew Stephanosrex voiced some of the males in this game (though apparently he did all of them), but I did NOT expect Lilypichy voicing the mage. I'm actually more surprised by the coincidence of the cast, considering they're popular for their LoL parodies/productions.
@dany3014 You're thinking about this the wrong way. You're not paying to have access to all features, you're paying for EXTRA features. This sequel gives you access to the same classes in the prequel, with some bonus classes that you can use if you wish if you buy the game, as well as a bit of new content. I can understand AQ being super greedy when it comes to content, fine. But these indie flash games you're playing are mostly made off of someones free time. There's nothing wrong with adding extra content to your game at a price, since it helps the dev with money problems they may have, and also open up more time for them to make more games or sequels. So please, don't be that dick who votes 1/5 because you hate premium content and feel you're entitled to everything free.
Wow, this game becomes super unplayable when the controls lock themselves up from lag. Nothing is bottlenecking on my end either, it's just the flash game itself, even on the lowest settings. I REALLY want to enjoy this game, but I can't because it keeps screwing me over mid-way to a checkpoint.
Please read the descriptions. Flash is a resource hog when it comes to inputs. Sadly there's no fix for this. A workaround is in the description with your keyboard settings, and also if the controls lock up, simply pausing the game and resuming will fix it.
@eee23 You're treating this game like it were a single-player release by ConArtists, which it's not. It's meant to be a browser social game based on the Last Stand universe. Granted, it does a really good job of implementing the game franchise without destroying it for a game type like this. You have to keep in mind though that these type of games are meant for you to wait, that's just how they are. And they do it so that if you're impatient you have to pay up. I actually really hate that system, because so many developers have been picking up on it to make some quick cash. But atleast ConArtists doesn't make you wait for centuries to actually progress, and I respect them for that.
So I see a lot of positive comments and people giving the game 5/5, but I for one think the game isn't really that deserving. Yeah the design and story are interesting and do suck you in, but the moment I got to Ann, the story literally just dumps on you the entire plot in one paragraph. That's not good storytelling at all. Also the ending was just weird, and didn't really bring closure to anything besides "Hey we're free to fly away!". So yeah, I don't think this game really deserves the 4/5 it has right now. It would if it had a lot better execution with its story presentation.
Wow, this game really is pay to win in some sense, but it doesn't have to be you who has to pay. I found a hunter through the Friend system that had high-crystal gear; a fighter that had 892 strength. He was able to combo on his own and critted for atleast 4,000. Basically, he broke the game for me and carried me through every mission. That Friend system is seriously broken in that regard.
I'm unsure if this game really deserves the puzzle tag. The game is fun and it is interesting to see what sort of faces lie in wait from the next level, but there's really no thought process needed to actually succeed, even for the ones near the end.
I believe people are uploading this game when it isn't theirs. This game was apparently made by someone called Vogd, but the account who uploaded this game in Konegregate is urmom12321. Doesn't sound like a very convincing name for a developer imo.
I absolutely love challenging games like this, but there are TWO things that make this game nearly impossible in later levels. One is the lag, which is just unacceptable in precise platformers like these. The other is the freaking controls. It's mostly ok, until your guy goes flying off at Mach 5 when you don't want him to. These 2 problems are seriously making this game much harder than it really is.
Let me just say right now, if you are using a touchpad and you are not proficient at using it, you WILL get a heart attack at one point in this game. You've been warned.
