Leveling up takes way too long. I had completed every map I could access (11/12) and was stuck at level 13. I know there are a few more towers to unlock as well, but I cannot be bothered to grind anymore.
The level design is eminently uninteresting. Home worlds are +3, others are +1, connections are random. Meh. Regarding the help section, the proper spelling is "system". I like the auto-sending function, but it's not enough on its own to save the game. Make proper levels, slow down the base game speed so there is a reason to use the speedup option, introduce some sort of strategy element, and you may have a winner, instead of a bland clone of Nanowars.
This game is not a true sudoku, in that puzzles here may have multiple solutions. For the record, "sudoku" literally means "one solution". Also, when clicking a tile where only one number can be filled in, the game should fill in the number automatically. Fixing the puzzle generator to make true sudoku puzzles should take precedence over that minor improvement, though.
It's basically Toss the Turtle: Geek Edition. A bit of originality wouldn't have hurt. Also it lacks a 'main menu' button, so the character can be changed without reloading the page.
Oh, and: 0/5, needs badges. :p
I think I broke it. I have water so following the river gets me to abstraction (I think that's why) but then when I play with form and imbue fire I no longer get the option to use the water to get love. This happened after I used love previously on the dandelion (twice) and it seems that now this path no longer works.
Some levels have way more pegs than necessary. Also, the introduction of switches breathes a second life into the game, but that happens a bit late. Should have done more with the very big wheel, it is only used in one level.
Was this game ever tested? Spell usage does not deduct mana, % bonus to stats are docked 1 point in display (rounding problem?) The tutorial is hideous and does not explain much. If at least the game was not a tedious re-hash of Nanowars...
The game is very repetitive, and it encourages grinding with the expert bonus making it disadvantageous to try and progress in the missions vs. doing the same lower level mission expertly over and over. Compounding the problem is the upgrade system which encourages saving and buying only the top upgrade, for a rough 50% discount. The achievement sytem is even worse, unoriginal, boring and based on grinding. Most towers are useless, with the fast tower several notches above everything else in damage-dealing, making it the only viable choice. Overall a very poor effort, and a lackluster game that bring nothing new to the genre. Next!
This is a bad ripoff of Heroes of Might&Magic, with all the fun removed and a lot of pain added. I don't blame Greg for giving it badges, I blame all the morons who voted this crap up so it would qualify for badges. Yesh!
Awkward controls: One hand to control the ship, one hand to aim with the mouse, one hand to activate the skills. That's one too many hand needed for me, but YMMV.
Repetitive action: Every level is the same, and you have to see them over and over again to farm gold so you can survive the next level... it's a grind, and grinding is not fun.
Gimmicky, unfun stuff: level 9 boss, aim for one part of the ship with guns that spray bullets in every direction.
Third tier achievements: "Figure out how to earn them, we're not telling you." Well, sir, that is just plain bull.
Overall the game is pretty, boring, repetitive and hinge on gimmicks rather than true gameplay. It's eminently forgettable, boring fare.
Very close to Little Wheel in gameplay, and quality. Not much of a game, but very entertaining nonetheless. And this is coming from someone who hated ImmorTall.
There is no reason not to grade up the students who have the necessary LP and no choice to make in this respect, so why doesn't the game do it automatically? I resent having to the tedious, manual chore for every grade, for every student, every week.
The rename mechanic encourages bonding between the player and the characters. The fame requirements, which force graduation, discourage it. Pick one and stick to it.
The pathfinding algorithm for the hunting missions is terrible. It needs fixing. This is not optional.
The player needs to be given more meaningful decisions to take. Right now there is only a handful, and it is detrimental to the game's depth.
