Grundish, KingKyd; You might have misunderstood me. New recruits in the Imperial Assassins will receive 10K in credits to begin with, but that doesn't even scratch the surface. I haven't even gone into the details regarding profit sharing and special Imperial-Only perks. It won't be long before the Leader of the Imperial Assassins rises to the status of Emperor. And having your gang-leader be the actual Emperor is a perk that only one gang can possess.
The Alien Gang Imperial Assassin in Sector 6-8 is recruiting new members. Once Ben re-enables the money transfer system, all new recruits will get a grubstake of 10,000 credits to get them started. Also, Imperial Assassins will get the Player's Guide Chapters I'm working on via e-mail before they are released to the public. Just FYI, the Player's Guide I'm working on is not 'official', just something I'm trying to do to help newbies.
PWNULOSER3200: They way to avoid spamming is to not be impatient and simply check back later to see if your comment posted instead of hitting 'Post Comment' over & over. You can always retype it if it didn't seem to stick, and it avoids 'accidental' spamming.
aperson: I am working on a more detailed FAQ and have posted Chapter One on the SF:DG Forum.
When using the stand-alone, downloaded version of the game, the Flash control menu creates a built in bug for this game. By using the keyboard shortcut Control-Enter ('Play'), weird things happen. If you have already activated hyperspace, then pressing that shortcut automatically advances you to the Entering Sector loading screen. Additionally, if you are not using hyperspace, even if you don't have one loaded at all, the same shortcut 'hyperspaces' you to the center of your current sector. It breaks any locks your opponents have on you, refreshes shields, energy & weapons (not sure about Large ones yet). It even ignores tractor beams & EMP disability. I found no situation in which it did not work.
Credit should also go to grundish & redenmity for helping me test these situations.
I'd like to see the ability to 'trade-in' engines just like weapons, even if you only got 20% of the original cost back. Barring that, I'd like the ability to have a 'hangar' for multiple ships, even if there was some form of docking fee. I'm currently flying a Hawk w/ maxed out engines, and I'm still a little slow for some combat situations. I'd love to try out a Chariot, but it's a huge investment to lose if I decide I like my Hawk better. If we could have 'hangars' to store ships at higher levels, that would expand the playability of the game.
Also, is there a way to use an Energy Cell without losing my Laser Beam lock on? Some sort of hot-key to customize for Utilities? I'd much rather have a single button to press to get my Engine Overdrive Boost or my Rapid Shield Recharge. Losing a lock at a critical moment because you have to recharge your weapons is a a pain.
Poorly designed game, with very many spelling & grammar problems. Too many of the questions are subjective or even worse, inaccurate. There are so many possible real trivia questions about the shows in the quiz that to use subjective 'guessing' questions is simply lazy. This is a poorly executed 'trivia' game, and needs serious work. I look forward to a better version in the future, or at least to see this one fixed. Until then, 1/5. Try harder next time. This isn't even a good attempt at a first game. This was slapped together and absolutely no fact-checking occurred, nor any play-testing. And if we are expected to be your play-testers, then take our criticisms and apply them to improve your game, don't chastise us for pointing out the game's many flaws.
DJ, you need to address the issue of why the game crashes in Firefox and freezes in IE. Awesome game, the fact that I keep relaunching my browsers to try and play says something about it. 4/5, but I will 5/5 when it stops crashing
It's been six days and the spelling errors on the first page and the last page are still there. The question regarding the number of people in the chat room has been corrected, at least. I'm improving my rating to 2/5 for the fact correction.
