@Monkeys101: Because removing symptoms allows you to decrease your visibility, which is an important early-game strategy to get your infection spread around the world.
Beat the game twice, with a virus. It can be done. Start a new game, and hope for a country with both seaports & airports, and one that gives you a free resistance (i.e., Durable Trait). Keep your visibility very low (don't buy any symptoms, and sell any that you happen to start with) First purchase should be Airborne transmission. Then get Level 2 Resistances (first upgrade your 'natural' resistance, then upgrade the others). Then buy all the other transmissions (water, insect, rodent) Then max out drug resistance to Level 4). Sit back and wait and hope that you spread to all the countries. As soon as you are in all countries, upgrade your symptoms for higher infectivity, and then upgrade for higher lethality. It is important to upgrade infectivty first. If the world begins to develop a vaccine, don't worry. As they begin to shut down hospitals to prevent the spread of the disease, they actually extend the required time to complete the vaccine.
Note: Sometimes, even if a country/region shuts down it's seaport/airport, an en route ship or plane may still land there. I just beat the game, but only because an en route ship was almost to Madagascar when they shut down their seaport. I got in under the wire. My strategy was to use a virus, and made sure that I started in a region that gave me a free resistance. I got lucky and started in Cuba, getting the Heat Resistance I for free. I sold off my one symptom, and then waited to gather some evo points. I bought Airborne Transmission, and then the first level of all resistances. Then after I had enough points, I bought all the transmissions and up to Level 2 of Cold/Heat/Moisture, and Level 4 in Med Resistance. And then I waited for every region to get infected. By the time they were all infected, I had over 100 Evo points and bought all the nastiest symptoms.
@space6011: You aren't really 'selling' symptoms so much as you are removing them. This is usually done to reduce the visibility of the disease. In essence, you are paying to mutate the disease carrier. It costs points whether you are adding or removing symptoms.

You need to work on the collision detection. My helicopter was at least a inch above a bullet and it still took damage. There's almost no point in dodging because even if you think you're out of the way of the bullet, you still take damage.
2/5 until you get the basics cleaned up. Good effort, now make it presentable.
And fix your spelling errors in the game text, there were about a dozen that I saw.
I just use the spacebar to reset the ball whenever I want, not just when it's stuck. This way I can guarantee that I get a perfect score and my opponents get 0 points.
In other words, the spacebar is broken. Find another way to fix the physics problem with the game. 2/5
