The razor queen is absolutely insane. Not only is it uber powerful, it takes 5 shots to kill it. I beat it in practice but I can't see myself beating it in a normal game with all the other gloopies around.
To whoever keeps deleting my 2500+ max word damage high score: I'm just gonna keep putting the score back up every time you delete it.
PS the word is "carboxymethylcelluloses" Brass: X, Jade: YYCMBUH
Who erased my 2000 word damage score from the high score list? I didn't cheat, I even said how I got it in the comments.
Now we have a weird situation where I'm #1 on today's rank with 1700, but I'm not anywhere on the weekly or all time lists where #1 is around 1500.
If anyone's wondering how I got >2000 word damage: "Floccinaucinihilipilification"
I had 8 letters. 7 green, 1 gold. The greens were: F, C, H, U, O, T, N. The gold was a P. Not counting splash, that's 28.5 damage per letter times 29 letters = 826.5 damage.
Some tips from someone who averages over 100 damage per word:
- Look for words with multiple high value letters: extravaganzas, extroversion, unequivocally, juxtapositions, quixotically, quantization, quivering.
- Once you have a number of those words, stock up on high value letters.
- Use the same word multiple times with different suffixes (extravaganzas, extravaganza, extravagantly, extravagance, extravagances)
- Look for prefixes with high value letters like extra- or over-, then use those to make tons of words: extrapolation, extraordinarily, overestimation, overexposed, overheating, overhanging, overwriting, etc.
- Most words you make with the prefix over- can be made into another word by changing over- to under-.
Tips for killing the last 2 guys:
1 mil hp guy: Stun him with shatter bolt about when you've done 7.5k dmg. When he wakes up you should have done enough damage to make him heal himself, so cast subversion just before he does. Instant kill.
Final guys: Ignore the outer two. The center guy has an instant kill attack that uses all his focus so you can never let him attack with full focus. Use disruption to remove focus whenever he hits full focus. If you ever miss you die, so add spells like cripple to make him easier to hit, electro bolt to try to remove his +500% speed buff, and stun to give yourself more tries and better odds.
Maybe you could add a timer bar so you could know when it's going to cut away. That way you can at least try not put yourself in an impossible situation when it cuts away.
Some games it won't help, but others it might. Like the one where you dodge the white circles you can make sure it doesn't cut away when you're close to a wall.
I just finished the thunderstorm mission and man, those thunder towers get super powerful once they reach level 5. Having 5 lvl 5 thunder towers does almost as much damage as 24/7 winged bombs.
There are long periods when it's easy then you get a super fast 115 and 120 launched at the same time. Hardly seem fair. Maybe instead of spawning numbers randomly the game should limit the sum of the number on the screen at once, and increase that number as you level.
The most important thing is to keep moving, shooting forward to clear a path and backward to clear enemies chasing you. Avoid spawning enemies as you run. Target grays first. Wiggle your cursor when you shoot at them to get the squares that spawn. Do NOT let the screen fill with small squares.
Once you have max speed, you can let enemies (except butterflies) collect behind you and as long as you keep running and don't change direction too quickly they won't catch you. Then you can focus on shooting forward to clear a path.
Around 30k points it becomes basically impossible to make sure you don't land on a laser. But you can just mash space and you'll never get hit by a laser no matter where you land.
When I finally decided to stop playing at 100k points I still had 25 lives to burn off. I could've gone forever if I didn't get bored.
The kill all powerup is way too weak compared to shield/+1 life, bordering on useless. Maybe it could take out all the lasers too. Even then it would still be the least useful but at least it's an improvement. Overall 4/5
When I first played this I passed it off as a lame jezzball clone with circles, but now I see it has way more strategy than jezzball like using circles just to shield so you can make bigger circles. 5/5
Don't know if this has been mentioned, but here's a tip on the knights.
Cast gauntlet but don't use the charges (so your cursor still looks like a gauntlet). Now you're invincible. Wait until they are red then use the gauntlet to stun and then chuck them in the air.
The concept of genre obviously escapes many of the players here. Saying this game is just a clone of luminara is like saying sonic the hedgehog is a clone of mario because they're both side scrolling platformers.
