it can seriously screw you if you power attack (say with chi blast) at the right time, but miss simply because of a 3% miss chance. It can also screw you if that apparently 5% miss chance makes you miss 4 times in a row. Which happens way too often.

have you noticed that anyone who plays without items basically loses automatically?
As for items not supplementing charachters, there are plenty of item/charachter combinations which greatly increase the combination's power. For example, Ashi+valkyrie's charm allows her to attack Cornelius constantine when he uses hypnotic stare, and also gives her a speed 10 move. Cain+Psylachtry allows you to keep Cain in the game longer at low health, thus supplementing his innate ability. Higashi+Mindreader's chalice allows you to instantly kill most charachters with one successful intercept AND gain full energy for Chi Blast at the same time. There are lots of very useful item combinations, and if you continue not to pay attention to your opponents items, you are sure to lose far more games than you win.
I agree with Darth Sai that balance is the goal of this game, and it seems that the chrachter cards are fairly well balanced, but I feel that the items are still greatly disparate in power.

the timer running out doesn't boot you, it just makes you pass or rest. The second timer is if the computer thinks the opponent has disconnected.

1. bug reports are submitted by clicking on the icon in upper right hand corner of the chat box (the second to the left) during a game in which the bug occurs.
2. Frenzied strikes becomes light magic after casting enchant blade, and in this case should be reflected
4 stuns with oen palm in a row for my opponent, then two misses with a 90% hit move by me, then a crit with rising dragon for my opponent. I think there is something wrong here.
This game is dso buggy...
It deletes accounts randomly and also freequently boots people. Furthermore, it lags like crazy if you play with someone who has a slow computer.
