The song is This Old Man (knick-knack paddy-whack give a dog a bone), a famous children's folk song. It dates back to the 1800's or earlier, so it somewhat predates Barney.
Huh? What old man am I supposed to go back to? Is there anything at all to do other than killing the one monster and grabbing the coins? I wasted a stupid around of time running around an big empty map searching for..... anything.
The 10 boss quickly kills low-defense units, making it hard to getting 3 stars (no deaths). I did it using *only* the bear and tree. Make sure they are in the front row and center before you reach the boss.
Updated level highscore list.
Message me if you beat any of them :)
Set1(9,28,22,14,4,8,8,7,11,53)
Set2(15,24,9,10,11,10,22,10,31,25)
Set3(10,35,13,15,13,19,17,21,24,34)

Set5(12,31,18,24,10,20,33,46,42,19)
My current best scores. The underlines mark scores that are improved from last post: Set1(9,28,23,14,4,_8,_8,_7,13,55) Set2(19,28,_9,11,11,11,_22,_10,_31,41) Set3(_10,38,13,_15,13,19,17,_29,24,36) Set4(19,14,4,_61,_16,19,27,22,40,24) Set5(12,34,18,_25,10,_20,35,46,47,19)
The clues seem to be (1) "Shifty eyes" - eyes become a line with a dark dot below the left end (2) "Squinty eyes" - eyes flash 1-pixel dots in the pupils or (3) "Grey backscratcher" - a grey rod in their hand / behind their back when they lift their hand over their left shoulder (right side shoulder from our point of view), I assume the grey rod is their rifle.
Tip: The key combos are confusing at first, but this will make it easy. Key combos cost 20 energy each. On each level watch the energy and start with SSS SSD SSD as fast as you have the energy for them. That makes the upgrades last the whole level and gives you effectively unlimited energy. Then use lots of AAS for a wide multishot. At higher levels you'll need to add some DDD for damage. That's all you need to learn to beat the game, but adding in some AAA for firerate is helpful. Don't worry about the other combos.
Spelling fixes: travel, projectile, often, regen. Change the three-key XXY combos into two-key XY combos. Eliminate the left-mouse-button for fire, just let it constantly autofire.
Impressively created world, and kinda cool to explore, but unless I'm missing something there's nothing to do but be a rat in a cage waiting to die. It works well as an art/concept project, but it's not much of a game.
Has potential. It desperately needs camera control, or at least keep the camera at a lower altitude for a longer view. Also the "buy equipment" option is very frustrating the way it unexpectedly wastes money for crap. Either relabel it as some sort of gambling, or give us a legitimate shopping option. Is there any healing on the desert map??? I couldn't find any!
Cute game, but a few things should be changed. The timer aspect is rather weak. It simply means you have to solve each level and then replay it blitz-style rebuilding the solution. The 200 circuits achievement is rather lame... even after winning and beating the highscore by a over a hundred points it required about 15 minutes of mindlessly grinding level 1 to get it. Top-3 on the highscore list is also going to get ridiculously ugly really fast unless it uses a weekly highscore table or something.
Cute game, but I was disappointed when it ended without advancing to harder problems. You could have seesaws with A+B vs C+D, or A+A vs B, and probably other complexities.
The bullets are a script error, I'll try to fix it later... But I'll need to add something to make the game harder...
