The name and description are quite annoying, but the puzzles are fun and interesting. I don't like the graphic style, although I do like the characters animations. Why is so much real estate on the right side wasted and the text squashed to one word per line?
Could have been great, but the presentation makes it hard to enjoy the gameplay.
Also, the first time I found chests on a level, I didn't know I needed to walk over them to pick them up. Assumed I would collect all from the battlefield once all enemies were defeated.
The game is fun, and well done, but a couple of suggestions. After moving, the arrows for direction facing need to me larger. Also, you should be able to select a direction facing at the end of your turn. If I move, and face forward, then attack a guy to my left, I'm now facing left... seems the facing is less useful than it could be.
It's a very good way to learn to type fast, encouraging you to learn where the keys are without looking. However, the end of level bits could be completely scrapped for a much better game. The controls don't respond well, and you don't have enough time to know what to do before you need to be doing it. Overall, very good, but please scrap the end of level fight bits.
Spent my last 2000 going back to the first planet, only to be turned down for every race. If you are charging for travel, the race should be guaranteed to run. Also, racing for the car should be automatically accepted if they won't lower the fee to something you can afford.
Third comment... sorry about this. I just noticed, you can increase or decrease the speed of falling blocks on the left. The interface wasn't clear until I looked more closely, makes sense now.
Oh, I just realized why my game ended. I had thought it was limited number of levels, but now I believe I had no moves left. It just ended, without explanation. It would be better to give me a time penalty, and reset the board, allowing me to continue playing.
I enjoyed the game, and thought it a nice take on the Bejeweled style of game, but as others mentioned, there are a few things needed. Rotation both ways. Faster new blocks falling. Some hint if you are stuck finding the only solution left. More levels. Etc. Good start, and I look forward to version 2.
It is an interesting lemmings style game. It's hard to control though. Shooting the arrow on the second (I think) I had to shoot to the left of where was marked or the woogling hit his head on the platform above before reaching the exit. Drawing the lines with a mage is hard too, since you scroll blindly while doing it. Fun game though.
As for comments... I agree with Clairebear that people should be docked points for the pointless "first" comments, and for the "third" comments that are actually fourth anyway.
Nevermind, I figured out the turning... that's a really weird way of doing it. Also, since I managed to pick up a key by picking on it, monster's weapons should not appear on the floor. It makes me want to pick it up as well.
Hmm, the instructions need some work as I just don't get it. I can move forward, or turn about and walk backwards... but turning left and right doesn't work. In story mode, and a straight line, I get one fight, kill the critter, but can't pick up his dagger even though it's displayed on the floor. I like the idea of the game though...
That was fun... and quite tough. I especially enjoyed the disguise in the last area.
For those having problems getting the badges, this is what I did. I completed it with the legendary ending, but didn't get the badge. So I repeated the last scene, this time gaining the reckless badge. Repeated the last scene again and got the legendary badge. Hope that helps.
Thanks for another great MD. Just noticed a problem. Spent a while setting up a party for the survival mode, equipped their skills, equipment, etc. I then went back to the store to sell the starter items before starting the fight. Wave 1... none of my new skills are equipped, only the starter ones. Not sure when they became unequipped...
Not too bad, but it is REALLY hard to see your shadow while over the blanket. I know you intended that, but it's a bit too hard... and kills the fun. A few suggestions... add the API for highscores in Kongregates. Add end of wave screen, showing accuracy of hits... to discourage spamming the swatter, which is what I ended up having to do. Good start to a game.
In my original message, saying how much I enjoyed the game, I forgot to say how I loved the music. It sounds heavilly influenced by the music from Evil Genius, which is perfect.
Very cool game. I was sold on the title, as I love the genre. The interface could be improved, but overall, the sound, the puzzles, the guard movements... very cool. I'd love to see this built out with mutliple banks to rob, and some way of adding scores (time based?). Nice work so far.
