Since the space bar jumps a certain amount, some of the blue passage are REALLY tough to get through. However, I eventually got through one, only to be stumped soon after. I'm at a level with walls all around me, blue on the edges or top right and left, and the left is the edge of the screen. The text says "You should know this if you've played the first game." Since I haven't, I have no idea what to do.
It's pretty good, but I do have a question. I had 2 aces (22, 12, or2) and drew a king, and it said I was bust at 22. Shouldn't that have been 12, or am I missing a rule?
As others said, the cursor detection is indeed off. Level 6 was frustrating... had to keep clicking all around the dots about 20 times each until it recognized me clicking... level 7 just isn't worth the hassle.
It is your fourth game here, but only 3 were really games, and they are all the same. It's great that you are learning flash... but instead of uploading so many games the same, try spending more time and creating something good. You have the skills... just apply them.
Took me a minute to figure out that I need to wiggle the spaceship to drop the notes on him. Once I did, I started scoring, but didn't have any fun. Not my taste in music either, which probably didn't help.
Just discovered a major bug. I beat the game, then played again, but the AI never placed it's ships... I bombed everywhere so there is no space greater than 2 together, and not a single hit!
Not bad, but you should be blocked from placing intersecting ships in the first place, not just have it prevent you from starting, and the AI player should be held to the same standards. Also, it'd be nice to have a graphical checklist of which ships you have killed, still have to kill, and the status of your own ships. The display can get confusing for what you still need to find. Overall, it's good though, and fun.
Interesting game. I wish the head changed each level as it gets a bit boring with the same one. The game gets almost impossible a few levels in, as everything moves too far to focus my eyes on. It is a fun game though, and I like that you can create your own heads. Another thing to add... the API so highscores can be shown on Kongregate.com :)
Good game, but the control of the ship is really hard to get used to, and the flashing at the end of the level is really annoying. Otherwise, it's a good little game.
It's okay, for what it is, but desperately needs a mute button, and the API for highscores on Kongregate. It's also very easy. Give only 25 health instead of 100 to add even a hint of a challenge. I stopped at 50K points due to boredom. Nice coding for a first game... and I look forward to seeing what you come up with next.
It works, so grats on the coding, but it's very boring and the letters are too small. It could use some more interesting colors, some music, and it'd be really nice if it checked off the questions that you correctly answer. Good coding, but a boring game.
It's nice that you are practising your flash skills, and for what you set out to do, this appears to have accomplished it. However, I see Kongregate as a Flash gaming site, and this is not a game... therefore it's not really appropriate. Good luck in developing your skills and I look forward to seeing a game from you.
This was fun, and a very neat idea. However, there are a few things I'd like to see changed though, like Zylvin mentioned, the erase when adding a weapon should only erase the new stuff you have drawn, not the ship. Also would be good to indicate the directions weapons will fire. I drew a fish and hat bullets flying from his back. When I added a weapon, it looked like it would fire up and forwards, so I added a baseball cap (as you do) but it fired straight up again. You should also be able to save your ship design. After I died, my fish ship was gone forever :(
