for some reason the game locks up when I go on hunt quests now :(
I've tried restarting my browser, rebooting my computer, and nothing works. I've even tried both firefox and IE, on the off chance something got stored locally. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?
It's kinda fun, but my aim's just not good enough to take out the threats early on. Also, some sort of explanation as to how the shield works, and how many days are left on the various researches, would probably be really handy. Some way to adjust the shield orientation (without having to toggle it off and back on), or maybe upgrades that increase its coverage area, would also be handy.
It just feels like, if I'm not absolutely perfect right out of the gate, I can't recover later on. Do the people breed at all?
something along with what Steakday said- because I can only have one amenity (water, microwave, vending machine, etc.) in the office, I find myself selecting employees not necessarily based on their skills but instead because they all like the same thing
The plus next to the gold does nothing! I can't add more gold, just turn gold to money. UUUUUUuuuuuuuseless!
Also, being able to move a person from one desk to another would be nice.
Game needs to not show me the AI player turns, and it needs to have an 'end turn until the RNG is done screwing you' button. I mean, seriously. I CANNOT complete contracts and I CANNOT catch up because I CANNOT complete contracts, and so on. I have piles of silver and gold, but the game wants copper, so I'm just SCREWED until the AI completes the contracts and the RNG rolls a new contract... which typically wants copper. The most irritating insult-to-injury is when the AI before me completes the contract, so on my turn, there's no contract. Just me, broke, nothing to do, hitting End Turn.
Ultimately, there's no way for the player to recover from the RNG screw. I only get skill points by completing contracts, so as soon as I fall behind AT ALL, I'll be behind the curve forever. I can't always complete a contract every turn, and I can never complete more than one. So, it gets to the point where the AI's are completing one contract a turn and I'm sitting there bankrupt. ....wheeee.....
my little triangle got all blowed up... not that I could tell why, because there's no way of knowing its status... can't see the status of the little drones... can't tell what's going on... there's no way for the player to know the mechanics of the game, or, really, enjoy them.
Also, I don't know if this is intentional, but a high-level Surround -> Proliferate -> Trap creates an awesome minefield. I wonder if surround -> trap -> surround -> trap would create a self-replenishing minefield...
Okay, if I could edit that previous comment, I would. I see now that Surround does in fact increase in size. The first two sizes were just so small I booted it out of my deck. Maybe if you start with 9 and go from there?
Similarly, I feel the same way about the ice spell- it's just not useful in its current form. As well, the AOE 4-square spell I find to only be useful when stacked. If it had range improvements like 8sq/12sq/whatever, though, that one might be a good part of the arsenal. The ice spell just seems like a poor duplicate of fire, at the moment. Perhaps if it did a N-turn freeze-in-place with damage over time? lv1 freezes the target 1 turn for Z damage, lv2 freezes them for 2 turns for Z damage per turn, kind of thing? Instead of boosting the damage, boosting the time they're locked in place. That could be a real life-saver for when you've got that high-HP enemy about to make the end zone.
But again, I enjoyed the play. I see I accumulated coins of some sort- will I be able to buy skills or other things later on?
Very nice for an alpha. Needs a load of work, but you know that. I'd agree that the towers shouldn't fire until something comes into range. Also, some sort of labeling on the towers that says they don't have an attack range of their own would be good (or, give them a starting range of 1 target, 1 square of range). Letting us know how long they have on their cooldown would also be very nice- something where I can mouse over the tower and have it tell me 'tower N, spells X/Y/Z, Q turns until ready to fire'
Thanks for the suggestions. Towers have been mentioned a lot now in feedback I've had. I plan to improve the tutorial and card text. I can also confirm that I will be releasing several other types of tower in future.
it's a reskinned version of a fantasy game that sucked in the first place. Sweet jebus WHY? If it was awful before you reskinned it, it's still awful NOW, and you actually made it worse by not changing the names to reflect the new skin.
@Shadowlord - I'd hate to see the original, if this is the improved version.
I've also discovered that there's some kinda cap on the number of units I can have out. As I put down more units, the first ones I placed disappear. Where do they go? It's a mystery to me, because that awesome troop I spent all that money on sure didn't go back into my squad. I guess I can just exceed the unit cap and vaporize my own troops? Lovely feature, that.
when you make metal bars, you get extra bars.
