To excel, train your eye to look for "differences" in the top and bottom rows. You get a feel for where a certain area is slightly bigger than the rest.
Got Platinum on my first try! Make sure your paths go through every single enemy. And as many treasure chests as possible. By floor 15, you'll be buff and you'll get great accessories from town.

Barbarian + Broadsword = virtually invincible. Deflect arrows and fireballs, charge through enemies, even double-jump! Just watch out for spikes. (Made better with the don't-lose-hero-if-I-have-mana artifact.)
Farming is really easy; just play the hardest level and go AFK. If you die in under 30 minutes, downgrade a level. Level XIII (13 -- goblin challenge) is especially lucrative; I got 100k gold in about an hour or two.
7-7-5 "defense journeyman." Green boss = hit rocks, purple = jump and have good timing.
Last boss is easy--stay on top and whing him when he flies by; takes time, but eventually, you'll win.

- To capture a town, go to one (no green name) and click on the Town Hall and click "Take over this town" or whatever.
Badge is easy, just time-consuming; follow the steps above and go for the easy towns (one, two, or three white stars in the top-left when you're visiting it.)
