I waited for the boss to change color, then jumped on him, since there's nothing else my guy can do but run and jump. But jumping on him costs a life.
I have no desire to go through the first three levels over and over until I figure out what I'm supposed to do to the boss.
Annoying game.
Haven't played it yet, but I'm having a hard time with a person named "Arcane." That's like a person named "Musical" or a person named "Athletic." Adjectives sounds pretty stupid as proper names.
Interesting. I guess I finished it. Wasn't really sure what the story had to do with the gameplay. The gameplay wasn't terribly compelling (nor was the story). And I found myself waiting up to 30 seconds after reading the interstitial story segments for the game to continue. (did clicking the screen make the game continue? Couldn't tell).
Didn't do much for me.
Deity...You use your "skill" points to unlock them. Yeah, I wasn't paying attention to that aspect of the game either until I simply couldn't beat one of the levels. It's actually a very cool part of the game, just a bit under-explained.
I'm not a kid. I don't have a lot of free time. I come here to play a game for a few minutes while taking a break from my consulting work. I really enjoy this game, but I agree with some other comments...There needs to be a way to speed up the game. Time is money.
Seriously...this is irritating. I can't figure out what increases the multiplier. Is that a money multiplier or a score multiplier? Do I get more money for distroying ships faster? Closer? Why does the amount of money I earn on a level change each time I play over? Too many unexplained things going on and it irritates me.
OK, I still can't figure out how to increase the "combo" rating. I always make less money on the second wave than I did on the first wave. . . What causes the "combo" to increase?
Fun game. Looks nice, good sound, easy to place. Problems: gets difficult way too soon. The prices escalate too fast. There's no explanation as to what the x1, x2, xN combos mean, how they are achieved, etc. There's not explaination as to why sometimes you make more money than others on the same level. A game needs to make the player feel like they are able to get an advantage, but in this game I always feel like I'm a step behind the enemy.
I had two Desert Patrol escorts, then I saved the game. When I loaded it, only one was there.
Then I beat the bunker. I saved the game. When I load it, I'm immediately attacked by a huge band of robbers who have the innitiative when the battle starts, killing half of my people.
I just have to say...that's effed up. Another flaw.
On other thing this game has to have is the ability to delay moving one person. Sometimes a person is trapped and can't move until another person is moved first. As it is now, you have to lose a full turn just. You should be able to skip the move and come back to it after all the other people have been moved.
Nice homage to Fallout. This would be a really fun game if there was some way to flee from combat. In Fallout you can try to make it to the exit grid if you screwed up and forgot to arm yourself and your companions. In this game you just have to lose. It's extremely frustrating, considering the time that goes into getting the game started. I don't think I can keep playing after the time I invested...and then forgot to issue weapons and extra ammo. A real shame. Fatal flaw in the game design.
