Finally finished Ping. I have apparently moved from "This is an interesting puzzle" mode to "I shall destroy you" mode. I suppose that's a good thing. ;)
Well, I can't think of any way to solve the last level with the hardware I have, so I'm off to a friend's house.
The Candle level was also annoying: Since I'm on a laptop with integral microphone, I could not see the screen and thus missed the visual cue that I was actually making progress.
-With the archer, I ran out of things to spend points on before the last level. That supposed to happen? If so, why?
-Some indication that I was making progress against the end boss and that what I was doing was actually working would have been nice.
This is the same as http://www.kongregate.com/games/hoby999/tree-defence and the stolen but apparently taken down copy, and give it the same rating. I will then play it a bit and if I notice any differences may change by rating.
Having to actually click on the letters rather than in or between them is somewhat annoying. At least they aren't pencil thin, but being able to click a box where the word is would help.
I'm not saying that the game is perfect except that. It's just that hasn't been pointed out yet. It is one of the better "Click here... in Paint!" games, and they do, as other comments indicate, have a niche.
When a powerup is maxed, does getting it again do anything? If not, could either it stop spawning them (as trying to catch them is a distraction) or having them heal your shields or something?
I always find the Right = counterclockwise, Left = clockwise controls messy when I'm on the top half of the screen, but there's not much you can do about that other than making the gun position fixed and rotating everything else, which I'm certain would be a lot more code heavy.
Ok, I suppose some sort of mouse control would also fix that. But as a keyboard-based game, not much can be done efficiently to improve that.
@ZachNCheeze: As far as I can tell, you dodge the bombs and shoot the planes.
@blindninja123: Your tolerance for boredom far exceeds my own. I stopped at 102.
"Stir the mixture again." is listed as a step, but it doesn't come after any other "Stir the mixture" steps.
"Click on the bowl's contents." is actually listed on the recipe?!? I thought Alazar was just mocking the "game" part, and unreasonably expected that there would at least be a workable cookie recipe here.
@Ilikepie321 - They're dyed. From Wikipedia, the Source of All Knowledge: "Maraschino cherries dyed red are typically almond-flavored, while cherries dyed green are sometimes peppermint-flavored. In the US, cherries dyed green have the same almond-maraschino flavor as red cherries."
Controling two ships at once is kind of the point. If you want to play a game where you control *one* ship going down a tunnel, there are eleventy billion of them readily available.
fiets55: You get the money back when they go off screen, and you can tell them to stop.
Is there a limited number of stages, or does it keep going until you get bored and leave?
