I really loved this game, and the previous one. Other commenters have already detailed what's so great about it, so I'll just make one observation. Shouldn't there be some kids waiting for you at home as well? One would think that during all those years living together, at some point the alchemist would've hooked up with either the adventurer or the smith (or both). Or is she just really good at making Potions of Contraception...? :-)
I'll go ahead and reiterate what a lot of people are saying. This game is REALLY fun, but it has a number of problems, the most egregious of which being the fact that everything but spells is COMPLETELY useless, the second being that boss battles where you run around the room avoiding attacks for literally 5 minutes waiting for the boss to be vulnerable are NOT fun (I'm looking at YOU, Maji).
God I love these games where they got a native English-speaker to record dialogue written by a non-English speaker. It's always a special breed of awkward. :)
This is a really good game, and a lot of fun, but why is it so SO laggy? Every time anything happens, it lags for about 2 seconds. Every time a monster dies. Every time a dialog box pops up. Every time you apply an upgrade to a character, or buy an item, or basically anything else. If I were to add it up, I bet I spend more time waiting than actually playing. Changing the graphics settings doesn't help. Everything is just as slow at low quality as at high quality. What is wrong with this game?
It's the little touches that make this game great. For example, I'd heard D say "Not this again!" at the beginning of a battle about a hundred times, but just now after hearing it again, for the first time Kaz followed it up with "Well why don't you stop bumping into them?!" I love it.
I was able to beat the first 13 levels with nothing but machine guns. After that I switched to the strategy posted by m2m2, which is 4 max damage saws on the bottom, 2 ball lightning in the middle, and 4 chain lightning on top. With that I 3-starred everything.
I find it amusing that I got the hard badge but not the medium, and frankly I can't be bothered, as heavy artillery is so useless in this game it's not work dealing with for long enough to upgrade high enough to get any blast kills.
Hey beavinator, oops, I think our automatic name generator got you! You can change your Mob name in your profile. Thanks for playing and sorry you think we are a crappy cashgrab game. Paying is actually optional, so now you know!
I think I just discovered an easter egg totally by accident. I finished the game and just left it on the ending screen while I was doing other stuff. Suddenly like 10 minutes later I start hearing this weird chanting sound. It freaked me out for a second!
Tip for the final boss: Use Boomer. You won't even have to jump on him. Just shoot him once to stun, and again to kill him. Her glide skill gives an extra advantage while outrunning the spikes. And then for the final battle, you can one-shot the BBQ and mustard bottles he fires, and then it only takes one round to finish him off, just shoot him twice after the mustard hits him the first time. (Not sure if this was intended or if it's a bug.)
Yay! A Flipline game that actually feels like playing a game rather than working a thankless minimum wage job! It's quite enjoyable too. Well done!
Also, let me take this opportunity to state that I really think we need to bring in Big Pauly for medical science experiments. Anyone who can scarf down as many triple cheeseburgers, sausage pizzas, gigantic ice cream sundaes, etc as I've seen that man do and not only still be alive but actually hale enough to run around, kill monsters and break blocks may well hold the key to human immortality!
Ok, this isn't cool. I had a 10% bonus on my weapon damage from achievement points. I tried to put another point in, and it stayed at 10% but it still used up my achievement points! Either fix it so there's no maximum on the bonus, or fix it so you can't waste points on things that are already maxed!
So here I was feeling kind of annoyed at all the grinding I did for coins before the upgrade costs were lowered...then I won 100,000 from the slot machine. All is forgiven! :-)
Thanks to @i_like_stuf for posting about the one-handed sword bug (feature?). I switched my DPS's from two-handed swords to one-handed with shields and suddenly had no trouble beating Brin Gardius (or much of the rest of the game). It would seem one-handed is the way to go.
I am level 34 with all of the best equipment faction medals can buy, and I'm still getting my ass handed to me by the Shade of Brin Gardius. Is this fight ridiculously hard, or do I just suck...?
My strategy: Use only interceptors. Buy upgrades in the following order: Heavy Industry, Ship Regen, Structure Regen, Ship Armor, Structure Armor, Ship Engines, Shock Resist, Improved Missiles, Ship Weapons, Missile Jamming, Infest Resist. This should carry you through all but the last few levels. Before attempting the final level, make sure to get Hangar Launcher, Hangar Capacity, Power Efficiency, Turret Refit, Improved Guns, Improved Beams. Then just plop down a reactor and maybe a repair turret just to be safe, then start spamming as many of the best ships possible. (I used Dreadnoughts, Tankships and Super Carriers.) Piece of cake.
