It's a bit funny, the weapons and attachments are nice, and the aiming system neat. However, the constant restarts with highscore prompts, reselecting guns (should have kill count in guns interface, and indication of what attachments you've selected), repetitive sounds and screen changes makes this very tiresome and annoying. Gameplay should be much more continuous.
@ibord: You banish monsters automatically when they reach your hut (you must have enough mana, otherwise you lose the battle), making them respawn. Each time they respawn, their banishing cost increases considerably.
Parts of it are neat: the graphics, the sound, and the gameplay style. Others are terrible: connection to actual WW2, game balance, controls. With some work, this could be a great game.
I'm enjoying this Gemcraft very much, and the expansions really makes this an engrossing experience. Only downer is that many specials and skills have meaningless bonuses like paying 5 points to get +2% discount on gems :-(. To all people requesting badges, it takes time for Kong staff to play a game like this sufficiently to decide what badges to make.
I liked it somewhat. It looked like a joke at first, with that song and these graphics, but I like how they are cheesy. The gameplay is sometimes interesting, sometimes poor. I'm ok with it being sold - there's a lot of work there - but the demo version is just too short. 3/5
This is such a top notch game! Excellent graphics, level design, music and one-key controls! Would love to see more of it (I did play the bonus edition too). 5/5
