Why DvM is a crappy version of SvA:
DvM: limited cannon aim control; SvA: less so
DvM: Replay levels to harvest needed cash for upgrades; SvA: nope
I only have these two comparisons, but it's sufficient as SvA doesn't give my anything that DvM doesn't have. So perhaps not "crappy", but it's certainly "less so".
Started out at 4 for the game. I'm nostalgic for the platform games. But -1 for cliffhangers. I'm tired devs copping out an ending with a cliffhanger. 3/5
Relies a bit too much on luck of the draw. Either a "holding" slot, the ability to place tiles incorrectly (like on restricted slots) or more frequency of resources would make this game the right level of fun. 2/5
Ugh, I just can't get into this game. The concept of the stress level is interesting but I hate the way that just walking around the dungeon increases it so fast. Animations are lame. The rate at which he missing in combat is frustrating. This game != fun. 1/5
2/5: Campaign is ok. Would i have stopped playing at just the campaign, I would have thought to give it 3 instead of 2. I don't understand why Survival mode has to be so hard so quickly though. It just frustrates me and leaves a general distaste for the game.
I liked this game until I found out that I can't go and enjoy the power ups I tried so hard to purchase. Suggestions: Make levels re-playable (if not for farming money) and carry-over powerups to the Zombie mini-game. 3/5 otherwise.
UI is more tedious than it needs to be. Much more intuitive to leave WASD / arrows for movement and mouse for aiming. Otherwise, fairly involved flash game. 3/5
Too short. A simple thing that could greatly extend game time on games like this is a "free play mode". I really do want to see how 2 lvl 5 lasers and a lvl 5 machine gun can mow stuff down.
Would've liked a little more UI "smartness". Ala, if there's only one possible action (phsyical attck) it's auto selected. The length (as in, not much) makes it quite difficult to get some of those achievements and still have a positive experience. 3/5, but +1 for the goofy song.
Sigh, I really enjoyed the game... until the 13th rune that is. The boss is a terrible game mechanic. It relies on quite a bit of luck to be in the right places long enough to gather enough fireflies. Ugh. 2/5
