GAME BREAKING BUG: sorry for the caps but just wanted to make sure the dev say this. If you use the SHIFT key it'll let you buy at the price of the first of the 50 units, so for ex if you wait till you have 50 rebirth points, you can buy 50 levels of damage for 50 RP only instead of the many more it should be.
Using this I maxed out technology and got to really high levels very quickly.
Also, as someone else mentioned the RP's should scale as you go up since waves take a lot longer to finish. As it stands there's no incentive to not stop grinding around wave 80 or so and just restart a quick run to maximize RP gain. Lastly I'm not sure the gem increased chance of dropping really works. I maxed it out at level 75 and didn't really see a difference.
Thank you, I will upload a hotfix for the "Shift" issue soon. You do get a ton more RPs when you reach higher waves and gem drop chance does work, as you might imagine the drop chance is very low, farm an hour with the upgrade and without it and compare results :)
Awesome game. In case you were waiting for feedback to add more content, I echo all the posts saying I wish it were longer and would really enjoy playing it; but I realize a lot of work goes into making something like this, so thanks for making it as it is already it was a lot of fun!
Hmm...the ads play and ask a bunch of annoying questions which I go through before being told that the sponsor won't give me the offer because they're out. Still we answer the dumb survey questions and get no bonus. Pretty aggravating.
This is unfortunately something not in our control - I suggest to Contact Kong, with some info about the ad, what brand it is advertising, and what the clickthrough link is (if available), and explain what's happening.
We will speak with them to see if there's a way we could detect such issues on our side and reward you guys anyway, and also making the video icon only show if ads are actually available, to take that part of the annoyance out. Something I think we'll be able to get to early next week.
All of this has been said, but to drive the point(s) home...There has to be a 0/1 indexing inconsistency in the code somewhere, as you need one more gem than what's stated in order to upgrade anything.
Also the "one small loan" upgrade breaks the game completely. Zero balance whatsoever, zero efforts put into graphics...Fancy graphics are not a requirement to make a great, or even good, game; but at least then make the mechanics interesting and solid.
Wow! Awesome, awesome game! I ignored it initially after a lazy attempt on my part, before coming back to it and absolutely loving it. As someone else said, reminds me of the good HOMM days. Those were the times...
Definitely still balance problems; after mid-way through tier 2 the game starts slowing down like crazy. Dev, I really think you should start graphing growth curves and running some number. If you don't know how to make the math work, look it up on some forums online. It's a cool game but right now it's failing imo to maintain sufficient interest because the balance is significantly off.
After yesterday's patch, more players progressed smoothly through Tier 2 in a matter of few hours, this is more or less what I planned for that stage of the game with Tier 3 bonuses giving some way to even further increase income.
This is a great game with a lot of depth, one of the games that has held my attention the most in recent years, truly a hidden gem on KG. One thing that is frustration is that the Bloodstone upgrade doesn't seem to be working. I invested 3 levels in it (60 gems total) and see no difference in monster spawn time. Maybe I'm not at overkill levels of damage but that's hard to believe when I'm restarting with over 300 gems. It sucks because it was a great idea since the slowness of monster spawning is one of the few frustrating things in this game, especially once you start ascending and expect to get through early levels fairly fast.
Nice little game, solid fundamentals so I think there's a lot of potential for making really good. One thing I'd look into is adding achievements based on level reached that give you special abilities/equipment etc...for when you restart, kind of the way Cardinal Quest lets you buy those with "achievement points".
Thanks! And the achievement points are a great idea. I'll look into it. My current idea: you can unlock improved starting stats and new skins/sprites/portraits for your character. What do you think?
The fact that the card system doesn't work basically breaks the game; everything grinds to a halt after level 60 or so. Actually I think there might be a decimal point error somewhere because I just got again a supposed 50% total increase to my DPS, but it only increased by 5%. If the cards worked it feels like the balance would be just right, but as it is right now the game becomes unplayable way too quickly...
A lot of cards don't work. I got 3 cards supposed to change my DPS by 50% total (2 cards for 10% and 1 card for 30%) and my DPS number stayed exactly the same...
I have to echo most of the other comments. The game has potential but it's not nearly developed enough to sustain interest, it gets boring very, very quickly.
Two more things (for the dev). It seems that when you go to the classes and come back all the flying monsters are gone (not necessarily a problem but that's the way it is right now). Also it'd be nice to have a total of the bonuses that the loot, perks, etc...give us.
Yeah I added a total stats page in the to-do list for the next update. The homework bats disappearing is somewhat of a technical limitation (it becomes a problem remembering each room state because you can move to different rooms later in the game).
There's a sort of bug. Immediately after liking on facebook and getting the 20 treats for free, the game started lagging like crazy, as in 4-5 frames/second. There was no build up to it, it went from perfectly smooth to unplayable lag and it was clearly because of the facebook liking thing. Refreshed the page and everything is fine now, so not a game breaker. Besides that the game is a lot of fun for now, haven't played enough to give more feedback but wanted to report the bug.
Thanks bitornade! Yeah there was also another comment earlier where some of the other website links don't open to a new tab properly, so I might need to overhaul in-game links in general. Thanks for the bug report tho!
