Interesting how, in a game titled "Rogue Fable," the Rogue is the WORST character. Even with 25 sneak, advanced enemies detect me, even as I fill them with sleep darts and use the evade skill. Really, the only useful thing that the Rogue does is detect enemies.
Replayed through with 2 arcane mages and 1 divine mage on hardcore mode. WAU MAGES ARE SO OVERPOWERED! For one arcane mage, I maxed out Fire, Earth, Magic, and got all of the passive skills for defense. For the other arcane mage, I maxed out Air, Water, Magic, and got all of the passive skills for defense. For the divine mage, I concentrated on law, holy, magic, and leadership. DO NOT GET THE ELEMENTAL SKILL IN HARDCORE MODE. Elementals are too weak. It's a waste of time and mana. In the 2nd half of the game, I mowed through all of the enemies.
Almost got to Vorag with a new party, saved, restored, and THEN was told that my savegame was corrupt and that I should have altered my Flash Global settings to save larger savegames. WHY IS THIS NOT ON THE SAVE SCREEN AT ALL TIMES??? Ugh...
GENERAL TIPS: Save weapons/armor of every type. You'll need to respec constantly in the beginning to match your enemies' strengths/weaknesses. If you're in hardcore and you're losing, refresh (F5) to reload your last save point. To save the game, click the door in the top left-hand corner. Every time you have choice, save your game, try a path, and then "reload" by hitting refresh (F5). Save before collecting a gold chest. Some are "genie" boxes. DON'T OPEN THOSE UNTIL YOU MAXED OUT YOUR LEVEL. Once your level is maxed, you can open and re-open those "genie" chests to get ideal weapons/armor. As a result, I had a two-handed sword that did +80 Holy damage and a stave that gave +180 spellpower.
HARDCORE TIPS: Get a TANK (Str, Dex, Tgh), ARCANE MAGE (Will, Tgh), DIVINE MAGE (Eng, Tgh). Get leadership and intensive training first to quickly max your level. Do not spend any gold aside for the heal global spell. Save $$$ for purchasing skills and abilities near the end. TANK - max two-handed, defense, and leadership (focus on defense first, then leadership…two-handed is only for tornado and whirlwind attacks). ARCANE MAGE - invest in 3rd tier EARTH (regen), WATER (freeze target), and AIR (angelic wings) to get 3 elementals. DIVINE MAGE – invest in 3rd tier holy and law magic for team heal and mind control. Invest 1 point in chaos for teleport. Invest in 3rd tier magic for both mages to stack magic amplifier. Near the endgame, purchase ability and skills to give arcane mage a 3rd elemental. Hire a paladin and donate to all gods before attacking Vorag.
Why does my mage wielding a stave walk in front of my fighter EVERY FRIGGIN' TIME and then just stand there...in front of my fighter, casting spells, and taking damage.
Hey mage, YOU ARE NOT A TANK!!!
Fun game, but Unity LAGS on my computer and I need to restart the game every few chapters in order to reduce the lag. Is there any way to skip to the puzzle at the end?
WARRIOR - Stun/block is king. Double-click to rapidly restock potions and always check the store for good purple items. In order of importance... Skills: (1) Counterattack, (2) Superior Interception, (3) Shield Bash, (4) Crushing Blow. Weapons: (1) Restore Health, (2) Ignore Armor/Barrier, (3) Chance to Freeze Enemy, (4) Special Attacks Chance. Shields: (1) Extra Block, (2) Status Immunity, (3) Special Attacks Chance. Armor: (1) Status Immunity, (2) Special Attacks Chance, (3) + Damage, (4) Returns Damage. Gold and XP is easy to come by, and + XP is useless after lv. 20.
The warrior is all about blocking. Stack +% Special Attacks armor and max out your Counterattack and Interception skills. Your Sorceress is all about healing and reflecting damage. So with her, also stack your +% Special Attacks Armor and max out your Incineration and Fire Shield skills. Only purchase purple triple-advantage armor and make sure you are immune to all statuses, particularly freeze.
It's IMPOSSIBLE to get 3 stars when Carly is in my party. She kills JUST enough of the decayed before I can kill them so reduce my accuracy to below 90%.
The MOST important upgrades are Order Reward and Truck Speed. That ensures that you make deliveries FAST and you're using your plant optimally. After that, truck discounts and plant upgrades will make sure that the rest of the levels are a breeze
TIPS: (1) 4th radar gives you colored dots, allowing you to see good/bad obstacles. (2) There are FAR more bad obstacles than good ones. (3) Bombs and chests are shown as bad obstacles, but both give you $$$ if you spam [Space]. (4) Lower tiers generally give better rewards than higher tiers. (5) More mines multiply your rewards. (6) The casino provides VERY low odds (I lost 4x and never won).
TIPS: Get over 85% accuracy EVERY DAY for your non-hero leaders so your leader gets 3 training points a day. (watch out for the auto-save at the end of every level!) New recruits: train, train, rest, train, upgrade, train to get an archer ASAP. Upgrade your strength, then reload, then aim, and lastly endurance. Switch leaders when you need +4 to level up. At first, keep everyone's stamina above 400 and concentrate on training, making potions, and resting until you can upgrade one archer to a Builder. Only then should you build barriers (maintain your 85% daily accuracy!). Train a backup archer every night for when all 6 of your frontline archers get sick. Builders maintain barriers, Herbalists maintain potions, and Hunters maintain traps. The last level is 25, so be sure to get an Aura or Berserk hero before the boss (hopefully he won't be sick for the boss battle like my damage-dealing hero was).
You should have "Easy," "Normal," "Hard" modes. This game isn't a casual game in the slightest. Currently it is stuck in HARD/EXPERT mode, which just makes me want to rage quit. If you make wrong choices in the beginning, you could very easily be stuck and have to restart the game. Which is not fun to play at all. As previously stated, the normal mode could work the way most other Defense Bow games work. (e.g. fully powered arrows go where you aim, heroes powers are active as sentries, players know what skills they are grinding for)
We’re sorry about that experience. It is a tricky issue that is not very easy to fix without creating a lot of bugs.
