I guess I'll play this long enough for the card ... the same long boring war of attrition as previous EW games. Not sure why this series keeps getting top billing. The respawn mechanics mean that any vaguely even battle becomes long and dull.
This isn't free (so it shouldn't be on Kong). It's not like many of these games where you can just speed things up a lot with cash, you just can't use a lot of things without paying.
It's quite well done but it's not a good core game and quality presentation can't cover that over.
I didn't get the badge either. There are several problems with this game. The worst is that the geography of the building is either inconsistent or poorly represented; for example the fireplace and attic stairwell are on the same side of the attic but opposite sides downstairs, the basement appears to be an extension of the linear house but the fireplace gas line and bathroom pipe down are both in there.
There are some large annoyances with items as well. I'm sure you could remember a 3 number safe code for two minutes without writing it down. The extension cord would work just as well down the stairs. I'm sure you could pry a fuse out of one of the useless slots (when are fuses -ever- stuck?). You don't need gloves to press a submerged switch if it's a non-shorting device which it must be since it's partially underwater.
Aye, future articles/tutorials will be in FD. Since I'd already written this one, before I worked out how to use FD, I thought I might as well put it up.
Hit a very annoying bug: accidentally pressed Exit Game (no confirmation), my save is on the 'kill the monsters' at the second town, but the monsters are gone.
Have to echo the complaints about 'hard mode'. It's deeply unsatisfying when your units just aren't as good as the opponent's, and you get 1-shot-killed when you can't do the same in return. Good apart from that but that is just frustrating.
Despite some irritations with the dictionary, it gets a 5.
For general patterns: i) anything that can end -ize can also end -ise; ii) many words that end -ingly are not recognised.
The zombie mode is not fun ... the config is not what you want, the one-collision kills when you can't grab close enemies are just frustrating and the controls (which are workable around in the main campaign) don't work well in a crowded area.
This is a truly terrible spin-of, a bad implementation of a copy of a bad game. It's also slow and laggy. I don't often give 1/5 but this doesn't deserve even that.
