Just a little annoyed with people complaining about the game's energy system without looking into why it is there. It helps with encouraging players to pay to play, and a major site that hosts games with this kind of system is Facebook. The game was developed under the intention of getting money from Facebook, and now they want to send to us a portion of the game to see whether or not they would get a similar reception here as they had on Facebook. Since Facebook is loaded with these types of games, it will be accepted there, but here, we prefer free games, where we are not encouraged to pay actual cash to continue playing or to become the average player and get wins to catch up to those who have been playing much longer. Sorry for the rant and all, but if anyone agrees about what I have said (both this comment and the previous one) + them if you like :)
I repeat, this is a FACEBOOK game. All if not most games on FACEBOOK have this kind of energy system. It won't be removed, despite how many of us want the developers to do so. It's a good game, but the developers are trying to see if sites other than FACEBOOK would enjoy the game as well. Obviously, the energy system will be a major hinderance to this, but it wont stop people from playing the game.
hmm... on an ambush, if you win, you lose no energy. IF you lose, and when you do lose, you lose a good portion of your energy. I don't know how much it is, may depend on the level, but I don't understand why you should lose energy for a battle that normally costs 0 energy to start and win. :/
for those who have beaten the game up to this point: the full game hasn't been sent to kong for some reason. I think series 2 has yet to be added, as well as chapters 16.1 and 22.1. Series 2 cards have not been added yet, and the friend system doesn't seem to be fully operational yet. If anything, I see this "beta" as an attempt to see if Kongregate members would be interested in playing this game here instead of on Facebook, and only sent an incomplete version to play around with. If it was more up to date, I might support it.
@shiranai maybe the person you fought was a facebook user. after all, its been on facebook longer than it has been on kongregate. We don't have series 2 yet, they do
the energy system/problem is the result of being a facebook game. The energy costs are always pretty high, too high so that for people who don't plan on spending will spend hours just to go through one area without leveling up (for the later chapters and challenges)
hmm... first time I tried it, had few problems besides the somewhat unresponsive jumping controls. Now, the game freezes up after I clear level 7. From what I've seen from other comments, this has happened for others, but on different levels too (level 20).
just wondering why does a treasure chest block us from moving on in certain paths? I just want to get to the end for that 1 DP and at least level up before I go back for those chests, not have it as a requirement and waste energy I could be spending on an easy duel :(
now that I think about it, if there were badges for this game (if it does get any, hopefully), I would say the following would be some ideas for badges: (I cant come up with good names for them though)
Reach level 10.(easy)
Get a 5-win streak. (medium)
Get 150 achievements. (hard)
(When it is fully available) Finish story mode. (medium)
+ if you like any of these 4 achievement ideas
challenges are feeling pointless, sure I'm gathering quite the card collection (not really) from completing the challenges, but what's the point? As long as this Error 2 bug exists (its been for at least a month), no one can make a new deck or edit one of their current ones to add any new cards they earned, or for those who are just joining the game, I'm assuming that they cannot save a deck and must stick with a default one. Until this problem is fixed, I can imagine many people giving a 1/5 or 2/5 rating. It's one thing for there to be a bug this bad, it's another thing if the site itself (kongregate) made the game and does not fix the game, but has the time to create new challenges, new badges, and select new badges of the day.
@pridak or you can just disable the option for them to use potions. However, doing that would mean that they would need a new source of healing to survive
hmm... the game crashes if you beat level 39, but did not complete a level before that one (I still had an incomplete level in world 7 when this happened).
got a glitch. I overkilled a monster, and it displays their health in negative values. All attacks I do from this point on does no damage, battle is continuing on with the enemy monster doing nothing at all. I'm waiting the whole thing out until it reaches 0, which may take around 10 minutes :'(
hmm... for some reason, the hydra battleset tends to freeze up and zoom in on one part of the screen when loading up the battle, with the exception of the very first fight in the battleset (the one with 2 hydras)
hmm... funny that I got the card and the hard badge, but nothing in between xD. Maybe the game saved my beating it before badges were added, as well as getting lance, while still deleting the save files that had this happen. Currently with Matt and Anna, level 3, no one else, when I saw that I got the card and the hard badge.
