the enemy heroes have a lot of health compared to your weapons damage and firerate, and to make it even worse they get shields, tower disablers, armor and reinforcements pretty soon. basically, you're teleporting around while your towers take your enemies literally inch by inch, and after an eternity passes and just when you think you're done with a level - here comes the reinforcements.
I sometimes get a bug where I lose control of my character, and he keeps spinning and running around in circles until I refresh. it's pretty annoying as it forces me to quit games.
To be honest, that one was a design choice rather than a side-effect of inexperience, short development time, blah, blah. I figured it'd be easier to let the player choose when to reset, rather than force a reset on them. Regardless, the score that's submitted happens at death, meaning it doesn't do any good for you to sit around and wait for it to get really high before closing.
so many upgrades and I only get to choose 2? D: also, I played fire/bounce (following the top comment) and sat in the corner of the screen, pressed fire and right clicked out to have auto fire, and just went doing other stuff while the game played itself. I mean, it's too easy to be interesting.
it has a good feel, I'd suggest different music (something aerie and less-intrusive) to really upgrade the atmosphere. I hope you decide to expand it past this Ludum Dare crap and add more content.
... and here I was, taking care of every answer I give, hoping for at least a possibly humorous (but still honest) analysis of my dream, when I got trolled in the end. >:(
this game is played deep underground with no source of light whatsoever. if you had a flashlight, you'd see it was the best game ever. shame on you, you don't.
finally got the badge! ... and it was a pain, too. here's a more detailed explanation of my comment; scoring those bonus combo things is crucial. be it you go for collecting 10 Lunas, or you go for 3 of each symbol and 3 of each color, or you go crazy with connecting the bonuses in stages,... just try to score something every level you get, cause you're bound to run into a level where luck isn't on your side. I suggest you almost never use tiles with same color as well as symbol, just try mixing it up and some bonus is bound to happen. good luck!
I'll admit, I had some bad girlfriends in my time, but I've never had one throwing dynamite at me while I was collecting money for her 500,000$ ring. that's just brutal.
there will be rank system
