In one of the later levels, I set off a rocket going up a hole and climbed up after it, only to have to quickly scramble back down and slip through a crawlspace at the bottom to escape a TRUCK falling down the hole, slowly crushing all the earth below it. Most bro moment ever. 5/5.
On level 6, at the part with the two mints swinging back and forth one above the other, there's a coin in a nook on the left that may be hard to get to (your character won't fit). Try jumping at it from different spots a bit away from that nook - my theory is he/she's landing a couple pixels too high and needs to "reset". Don't be surprised if, at other times, you just stroll right in.
As with the other Papa platformers, coins seem to be evenly distributed among the areas, and there's no need to backtrack with the same level. So if you're leaving an area with a multiple of 20 or 25 coins, you've probably got all of them on that area, and can safely move on.
Hello again. Feb12, tried again on Firefox: faster (I notice a lot of glow effects are gone), but still having framerate problems that worsen as game continues. (Smooth for second-long spurts, then a pause, then spurt, then pause...) Flamethrowers still "invincible" as a result, flak very hard to aim, etc. Still works great in Chrome.
Thanks for your info. Glad it works good on Chrome! Not sure if I will be able to find solution for Firefox, my debug test shows clean waste management, excess objects are regularly cleared.
Halibut's report probly helps more than mine, but the frame rate renders the game unplayable on FF 35.0.1 as well. Shockwave Flash 16.0.0.296. GeForce 560. Interesting game otherwise, if the frame rate ever increases.
Managed an interesting bug - got a bomb to set off right when I was near the sheriff. Set it off, burger takes off, and never lands. I'm just sailing over the countryside apparently forever.
One small problem in an otherwise great game (5/5 from me): SPOILER: I managed to convince myself early on that the method for getting the TV brand couldn't possibly work, because the commands I was using here (namely, sudo) didn't exist at the dates given in the emails. ...I mean, sure, neither did AIs, but there's a meta-rule in writing that you have to advertise the rules you're breaking a la Chekov's gun. ...It impresses me greatly that it took me *this* much before I was willing to declare this a problem. (And I got it anyway, after all.)
Won't even load, and some of the comments are discomfiting enough to get a 1/5 for me. Especially with the lack of recognition of the loading problem on the forum. Pay some attention to your own game, devs.
This game looks so good, and yet is so annoying. The gameplay is enticing, and yet, half the time I fail a jump not because my timing is off but rather because I'm unable to tell where I am in relation to the thing I'm avoiding. Also, double-jump is actually sometimes-triple-jump-except-when-you-try-to-rely-on-it, and the kred begging... bleah. 2/5.
July 21 - This is a game I'd typically give a 4/5 for the art, music, amusement, etc. and instead is getting a 1/5 because of the lag + unresponsiveness. Turned a pretty good game into an absolute nightmare.
One of my favorite features is the way the warrior handles. He's got just the right amount of grab onto surfaces, the right amount of inertia when trying to tip himself up or over something, and the right amount of thrust when leaping from a stand or a run. Don't know how hard Lampogolvii worked on perfecting this, but I appreciated it.
Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY THE MISSLETOE LAUNCHER, even out of boredom. I bought it, upgraded it, and it kills *much less than the Dual Teagles* did. As in I literally lose within the first ten seconds of any level now. But not only that, *I can't even switch back to the Teagles*. Or any other weapon. Hated, hated, hated this game.
"The Merchant faction has worked out a way to counterfeit money using the marrow of golems"... There's so much wrong with that concept, I don't even know where to begin.
Keyboard shortcuts really don't seem to want to play nice with the interface. Twice now, I've hit C to dismiss the character screen while the mouse happened to be over an item, resulting in an item tooltip that now won't leave the screen unless I *reload the entire game*.
Thanks. Hope my next game will not have such problems.
