@alfie yeah but the point is thats not how football is played. Firstly the defense chooses its coverage and formation based on the offensive play. Secondly, Not having any choice in play calling directly goes against being able to manage your team effectively, and basically directly against the premise of being a couch coach as the game says. the game can still be made challenging without being intentionally limiting.
When the description of the game literally says "while on the field you get to call the shots." and we dont, seems like a bit of an oversight. Right now the addition of a playbook or other option to choose is more needed than aggravating interceptions or blitzing. I could work around those with a better selection of plays instead of having to deal with a bad route. You should at the very least get to pick your play and your audible.
+ And the blitz. Def blitz about every other play or more. No play changing ability or choice coupled with blitzing every play isnt fun or challenging+

Game speed, zoom, salary caps. +++ But problems still exist in that defenders still have 10 foot arms. interception detection is absolutely ridiculous. and every defending team has usain bolt speed sprinting half the field to tackle my 5 star runner with no stamina drain. And no playbook/playcalling ability is rougher than clicking through random plays.
With the addition of audibles, we NEED a playbook or something. A way to choose the play we start off with instead of just getting a random one that we may not want to run then having to waste an audible. More control please.
I would say you could roll the weapons into ball buffs. Make the balle explode on contact for a short period like the rocket. Make the ball split, etc. Maybe leave the gun as your default clearing choice instead of clicking the bricks directly.
After a while it feels like the game is more about beefing up your rocket launcher than your ball and paddle. Im at the point the rocket clears more blocks faster than the ball does and if youre staying true to the old style brick break games, it should be about the ball and paddle.
The gun buff feels underpowered compared to the rocket. beef the rocket up and it clears tons at once while the gun just lasts longer. Maybe an upgrade that gives gun more bullet spread or faster shot speed.
Most idle games also offer a second currency gained from prestiging that lets you purchase even strong, usually permanent, upgrades. I can think of something like an actual second ball and paddle on screen to larger maps by adding rows and columns with prestige points.
Also could add more buffs. like some of the old ball buffs like split ball or bulldozer (goes through blocks instead of bouncing off) tie their duration to other buff duration bonus.
Should add more levels with different patterns for some variation. Just have them swap in on a prestige. they dont need to do anything special, just be different.
Yeah game can be played again. Were still updates behind the app version. and everything that was wrong before since the mar 6 patch is still wrong. Defenders have 10ft arms. Receivers with maxed stats still bobble more than they ever should. defensive linemen sprinting like usain bolt across the entire field to catch up to offensive player with maxed running and stamina. subpar teams well below my def star rating somehow getting touchdowns on every drive.
Sorry prestige should be working now. I had plans for the grass but now it just stays there I guess.
