24 December 2024: is this the first map ever where it is physically impossible to play a NBM (No Base Movement) game because there is nowhere to put a Collector that connects to Odin City and sits in the main playfield?and
Yes @sinsterturing, my best time is 30:28 (and my worst time is over 58 minutes!) It is challenging. You need to move Odin City to an island, build energy and then progress in first one, then another direction. I built 1 mortar, 1 blaster and 1 drone base on the island, and then built up to 7 more attack towers one at a time and stored them elsewhere until needed.
I've been playing CW:E for 9 years and only just realised that blasters can shoot down spores! I had noticed that some spores were duds i.e. even when no SAM hit them, they would fail to land. Then I glimpsed a blaster shooting at, apparently, nothing as a spore went past. So I set up a game where mortars took care of the creeper, while a ring of blasters sat waiting. Sure enough, when the spore attack came, the blasters knocked most of them out! Normal blaster rules apply i.e. they can only shoot level or downwards, i.e. only when the spores are descending onto target. Am I the last to discover this, or did everyone else already know?
May 1 2023 (playing on Flashpoint) is the most challenging day since July 14 2019. My only successful time so far is 59:41! When I tried again, it got to 60:00 and 40 seconds later it was all over.
9/4 - a first for me - all 3 totems energised with OC sitting in the creeper, the portal opens but then OC is destroyed before it has a chance to fly to the portal! FYI this counts as a FAIL.
8/8 - 2:31 NBM. I used the layout in your screenshot @Rain_King and somehow beat it by 18 seconds! In what order did you use the power-ups? I used Energy, then Economy, then Industry.
