It would be nice to be able to destroy/ delete space station rooms - and as someone else suggested, it would be good to be able to delete old ships. That or be able to re-allocate crew members.
Fun game overall though - Thanks
TIL - O's are trying to co-exist on 3x3 grid lands but some vengeful hand is murdering populations of 3 that live in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal lines. X's are the pawns of the devious force.
Good update (1.0.6) - I like the game in general and it's nice that more work is being done after the 9-day game jam version. [+1 for good patch notes]
It'd be nice if there was a way to compare car parts during the part blueprint design phase so that you could relate to earlier designs or even other parts (in case you needed a quick way to match the chasis to the body- or design more holistically in general)
Note: Back button after clicking no on the warning; ability to be female, ability to try to be female after clicking male; ability to select black after selecting white; ability to make your name actually matter? (all of these things limit the character creation to a linear predetermined fate - like IRL but still - I'm not sure if you did this on purpose or if it's just because the stage of development.... The click text at the library and workout screens are could be more legible. ~~~ yup Verkade's comment on the effects of food ~~~ a baseline for comparison might be stick rpg - in terms of the scope of the game - length and what you can do - but this game centers its concept around survival much more - if you were to develop it further, I think you could look at more parameters that affect survival - maybe a "rebirth" system" and make the game even harder. In terms of progress and the investment of effort - I think its well paced.
Interesting concept, I think if you were to add more things to do - like more destination types, and maybe a way to upgrade slightly weaker ships - and then more ships (once you reach the hangar) the game could have more end-game depth
In terms of the game right now, just for faster commands maybe even shorter commands so that in a fight I could easily do:
p eng d
p wpns u
s x x
Quick like that - maybe list the shorter commands in the help text for clarity
Yup, there is a lot of room for improvement.
The game as is right now is more of a proof of concept to see if there are people interested and whether it'd be a good idea to make a more elaborate one. ^^
And indeed, putting one-letter shortcuts is a good call. Might do that on the next build.
Edit: Build 1.0.1 has some new shortcuts.
:o, now I don't have to have grid paper to play this game - you could probably try to do a multi-player with each player with their own "mark"
The game can get really meta with 5 player...
1. The game screen is probably way too big, an 800x600 flash window is more than enough. Maybe a 600x480 window might be more manageable for those who have smaller screen resolutions.
2. To improve the game, since it\s essentially an anti-idle - game requiring activity, things like growth or an increasingly complex system for nuturing the maggot might develop as time progresses.
3. Upgrades? Evolution? Coins? Maggot as an upgrade-able attraction to bring in more coins? More needs?
GL HF Developing
oh, you might want to standardize your font - and probably rethink the UI into a more continuous overlay
You might want to add tooltips to show the requirements for collecting each resource and how trading affects your relationship with said partners.
I suppose you are working on the economy system of the nation but to add to the game might be relationships with different trading partners with different influence in resources and power levels.
For those with a "load" or graphics issue, I have found that the "high" graphics setting was causing a graphics glitch. Turning the setting off and from high to low made everything visible. GL finding that button when you can't see anything though.
This game is nice 5/5
The levels are challenging, noting 17, 23, and 24 but are all beatable. The level creator is awesome, and I spent tons of time making nice castles.
That is probably not easy to do but I will look into it.
