I've played hundreds of games on Kong. I don't think I've ever come across a game I couldn't play because I couldn't connect to the server... until now.
I'm glad to see the developer come back, continue the series, and improve the level design. However, I was not much of a fan of the User Experience of this game. The movements of the individual points, mixed with the bouncing, mixed with the shade of red combined together to make a very difficult visual experience. To be blunt, it hurt my eyes. Obviously, having a game hurt one's eyes pulls some of the fun out of the game. I'll give the developer the benefit of the doubt they didn't intend to create difficulty by making the game painful to play, but it doesn't change the current outcome of the game as is.
Decent game overall. I like how it immediately takes you back to the last checkpoint without some sort of blackout or anything - very good game design there, but the controls aren't as tight as they need to be for a parkour game.
It's a great start to a game. There's so much more you can do with this. By zooming out, you can have a larger board with more difficult levels while maintaining your fluid mechanic design. I was beginning to enjoy the game, and then it ended. Expand it, make it more difficult, and I'm sure you'll see some higher ratings coming your way!
I'm told that silver doesn't grow on trees. Well, of course not! That'd be ridiculous! The seeds grow on the tree. Plant the seeds, and the money grows from the seeds in the ground!
If another area won't open up until you take the Direct Action of Frontier Outpost on the bordering area. Doing this when there's an incoming attack doesn't count - it's got to be done willingly.
How do you go from 75% Popularity to NOTHING in one day?! I didn't do anything significant - I was saving up money to continue re-arranging the mall for best combinations. :/
Really neat game! Love the idea, love the concept, and love most of the execution. However, the end boss of Death comes way to early. I mean, I still have 3.5 maps to unlock and complete, and I've already beat him! When fighting him, I didn't expect him to be the final boss, but there rolls the credits and the "Thanks for playing" message. Given the lvl difficulties being listed on each one, I'd expect to see him much further on in the map unlock process, with more difficulty (eg. firepower damage and health)
I would have loved to have seen a story to go along with this. Maybe just an "internal dialogue" hinting at a back story. Was this some kind of metaphor for what she was going through in life? Or were these literal challenges she was overcoming to get TO somewhere or AWAY from somewhere? Was there someone or something she was running to or from? Even if the story was more of a mysterious, incomplete kind of tale, that would have added so much to the game.
Love the game thus far, but was only able to complete 1 game before it consumed my entire system resources. I killed the "plugin-container.exe" for firefox in my processes list, and my RAM usage under the Performance tab went for 3.8 GB to 1.5 GB. This game was the only tab open.
I can't wait for the final release! Until then, there's some series memory leakage going on. My Ivy Bridge Core-i7 may be running a little light with 4 GB or RAM, but I've never had a browser-based game push it so hard. Despite that fact, there's no denying this game is a great offspring to the original!
This game has a lot of great potential! So many things you can do with it - multiple ships with their own sets of upgrades, different sectors with a map/lvl select, different sets of bosses for each sector, etc. All in all, a great game, but I wish there was more to it! :)
This game has so much potential! The basic idea is great! Four main problems though:
1) Navigating the boss fights aren't as smooth as the rest of the exploration.
2) Allowing a few extra seconds at the end of the boss area to grab treasures would be GREAT!
3) Allow keyboard interface.
4) Make it longer. There is potential for a much bigger, more dynamic game. Eg. buying better subs, upgrading them, fighting bigger, harder bosses, etc.
likewise!
