I hate the new flak. Many of the levels spawn enemies so fast that there is no chance to stop firing. Having the gun just stop while you wait for it to reload is painful. It makes the gun feel undependable.
Being able to see the prices on the air strikes all the time would be a huge help. On most maps the waves bleed together, so there's no gap that's good for taking the mouse off the main screen to check prices. Plus, sometimes I keep at least one of them going all the time, and currently you can't see the price of something that isn't ready yet.
The badges make scoring a bit unrewarding. I've gone back to old maps and absolutely dominated, but failed to improve my scores. Since advancement is based on scoring, a clearer scoring system would help. Enjoyable game in general, though.
Wait, 202? Spongeclock, are you talking about your alignment? 202 is nothing, you haven't gotten very far in the game yet. When I said I couldn't get past 44, I meant the 44th level of the game, not alignment. My alignment is +7421, but there's no way I can get past level 44. I beat the fiftieth level of the evil side with about -1150 alignment.
Spongeclock, the good side may work, but there are gigantic advantages to the evil side. The gauntlet is immune to the swordsman but th needle isn't. No way is that fair. The anvil can smash fliers out of the air and destroy the houses but the cage can't. Again, huge advantage to the evil side.
I can not believe how much easier evil is than good. I got to level 44 on the pacifist side and couldn't go any further. That was with using new game+ several times to get more stuff. But I couldn't get past 44. I just tried evil and I'm up to 45 with no problem, and that's without using new game+ once. The anvil and the power glove are so much better than the pacifist counterparts. The good side needs to be rebalanced, it's just not fun.
I've put a lot of time into getting the final badge, but I give up. Level 44 is kicking my butt and I don't think I can improve. I hate those knights a ton, they feel like a cheat to me.
The one gold isn't about the loading screen. Just play the game for a few seconds and you'll get the requirement. Every single person who's played the game should see a check box next to the achievement.
Another bug. If I use the cage and then immediately use time freeze, peasants get stuck. I get credit for them, but they stay on the screen until the level ends, just standing there.
I see they changed the requirement for the badge. I'd rather they'd made the spells less expensive. The final Pawny upgrade is so expensive it's essentially useless to the game.
No Bevmo, you're not missing anything. The final badge is not designed to make you enjoy the game. The prices are completely insane and poorly spread out.
dog, I've found that the easiest way to get the guys with wings (other than the cage) is to slam them down. You can't easily slam them down at first, but slamming them down when they have wings works really well.
Another problem is when you don't get much or any money for a bounce. You can't control where they fall, so having them hit a cottage and then plop slowly to the ground shouldn't penalise you. It's even more frustrating when the hit doesn't kill them, but the tiny bounce that comes after does. Then you get almost no gold even though you made them bounce really hard.
The main problem with knights is when they appear with several other peasants at once, especially when they start near the side of the screen. Sometimes the cottage is close enough to the edge that it takes less than a second for three enemies to run to the edge and escape. That's challenging (in a fun way) if you use that second to grab them all. However, if a knight spawns on top of those three guys then you have to deal with him first and you don't have time to do anything with those guys. That's when it is frustrating.
