Liked the aspects of food and fatigue playing a role. Overall a very good game, couple minor glitches (g key issue), some minor reload problems with the horde during boat escape. Love the random (?) spawns, first one in a basement startled me pretty good.
These games always make my finger dexterity seem vastly lacking. I'm thinking it's because i'm mostly used to the qwerty setup. Though what I find helps is turning the keyboard 45º, mind you the spacebars a little less responsive that way.
Best way I've found for space stars is to have everything maxed. Then use a high angle throw, rainbow star boost (not rocket) to get up as high as possible then reserve fuel for dodging jet streams. If I still need to use rockets I do but try to limit it.
For a couple extra bonus tiles on your first play through go through the tutorial until it gives you the bonuses and then click on skip. You start with +8 tiles a tile bomb and a switch.
Chaos mages when maxed offence are an automatic 5/6 turn ko. It's just about sapping the opponents SP until you can nuke with a burn spell. Hitting over 2k damage / attack even against end bosses.
I have to say that this game in painfully difficult but quite fun nonetheless. Best tip is to stockpile as many bonuses as you can the last 3-4 levels I got to (23 is my current max) burned through most of what I had.
This wasn't much of a 'game' in that it was more a piece animated fiction. It had a nice story, and decent rhyming scheme (although stressed at times) with a beautiful aesthetic to it. Loved the graphics but it's not a game in the traditional sense.
@BCQuinn: For starters the higher level difficulties are very dependant on how you spend your AP. Putting a couple levels into your Villa can easily double your DMG output. If you're using the community game mod throwing parties and praying might be necessary. Also getting the anti-armor/anti-air skills and maxing them early helps greatly.
I cleared 150 days of Casual without much difficulty using a Noble with a MG and very shoddy support units (40+ levels lower than my character). Be greedy about XP because aside from some minor support the NPC's are really only useful for Party Skills and knockback.
The ideal way to use ragnarok is to have decent weapons (and preferably a high anti-armor skill). If you're lacking damage stock up on higher level nades and save up a couple grails. I personaly use a MG and gravity gun combo and can make it through without grails but they're handy.
The issue with the chain gun not firing is annoying but easily worked around. Put a cheap gun in the second slot and switch to it after every reload to make sure chain gun works. Or just develop a nice secondary weapon. Personally if I'm going to be a Big-Guns guy I stick with the HMG.
Adding to that the 'nerfing' of the gravity gun turned it from a game-breaker into completely useless. Maybe put 3 base ammo instead of 1. That way you could leave the reload as is without it being too rediculous.
I'm on day 85 at the moment. Anyway some things I noticed: Chain guns tend to 'stick' after reloading, they whirl but do not fire. It's annoying to have to switch to another weapon after every reload, though it does solve the problem. Also I still have no clue how to unlock the HaNaBi medal.
I honestly see a lot of people bitching more about their lack of skill rather than the flaws in the game. I think a lot of the losses people experience are based on not putting focus on essential skills. 4/5
