_Dammit_! I know I said this game needed badges, but I did all that already.I *really* don't want to do it all again just to earn the badges. It would be really nice if it could recognise when you load a game with those achievements already complete.

"highly story-driven" so yes, there is lots of text. The story and the snarky text is what kept me playing.
"in the style of NES and SNES RPGs" so yes, the graphics are old school. It doesn't hurt the game and gives it a nice feel.
And the French accent for Jacques was perfect and very silly.
Great game.
There should definitely be a HARD BADGE for finding the Trilobite keys, getting to Cambria and then completing the arena challenge.
By the way, PhoenixDown is also very useful to attack the very hard undead characters like the ZombieDragon.
