The developer of this game is not a native English speaker, for those of you curious about the dialog. He's from Vietnam and speaks English as a second language. Unfortunately flash game developers can't always afford to hire people just to do proof reading an re-writes, so, that is why it is a bit strange to read. Maybe he'd be interested in some help re-writing it or definitely some help for the sequel! Still, I think this is awesome.
Also, perhaps its just that I've been watching 1930s cartoons every night for the past week, but is that main character an 8bit monochrome blackface performer? I mean I realize if you're using 2 colors you're fairly limited in making lips and such, but... I dunno.
It's sad to see this game rated so low. I feel like with a little more testing and balancing this would be a great game. The concept and style are fantastic. Obviously lots of people are getting frozen on the third boss, and I agree that the bullets just do too much damage at least to the agility character. Two hits and I'm dead (if I don't manage to dodge). This game has everything going for it, but should have had more testing and feedback before being released to the public. I gave it a 5/5 just cause the score is too low and I wish it was higher. I hope you guys fix the issues!
Probably the most underrated and hated-on game on the site, this game is fantastic and fun. It has a good flow and feel to it. I've never understood people who couldn't play it. The whole concept is simple. Players baffle me sometimes.
iConvict to get he easy bade you complete someone's level, not upload your own. Though you could complete the one that you uploaded if you want. If that doesn't work let us know, could be a but.
I hope the community agrees to down-vote and flag levels uploaded by users like luc001, which are mere replicas that do not acknowledge the original creator anywhere in the description. Let me know how you guys feel about this. There's really a good and a bad. Letting levels be scene in the editor allows for a lot of learning, and I think it makes it more accessible. But it also means we have to police ourselves and rate appropriately. We have to be aware or who really did create a level. I will be suggesting to Kongregate that they add level publishing dates to solve any disputes on who uploaded a level first.
Just a note to the Pyro level building community. Gama11, who has submitted some awesome levels, has said that maybe kong levels shouldn't be able to be edited to prevent level stealing. I'm divided on this issue. I like that new users can open up a level and see how it works to get ideas and learn to make their own, but obviously re-uploading someone's level as your own is unethical.
To everyone else, hopefully you can come up with some really cool custom levels! The top rated ones are already being played hundreds of times. I'll be adding them to the official game so that they're playable all over the web.
Thanks to everyone on Kongregate for your support. We appreciate the feedback, positive and negative, and we're taking it all into consideration for the future. For those of you who feel that Pyro 2 doesnt have enough new features, we will not create any more games with the word 'Pyro' in them until it is TRULY distinct. We wanted to put this out because of the level editor and the Kongregate level sharing API, that's the main focus here. If you're not interested in that, and you already got bored on Pyro 1, maybe hang on for our next game. It'll be pretty rad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tM4MBpCSiNo
