No memory leak issues here. I beat the game and enjoyed it. It feels like a big departure from the feel of the first game, but it's still a fairly unique mechanic and I still enjoyed it.
It's very similar to another game that has card draws for towers and different maps on prestige, but the name escapes me. The targeting is my biggest complaint so far, where the "strongest" enemy never changes even if the HP drops. Seems like its based on Max HP currently. The target doesn't switch until the targeted enemy leaves the range
I stopped playing because item management is clunky and inefficient. Items with two slots are only compared against one of them, and I can't tell which. I think the typical convention with stats is to make the improvements green and the reductions red, which would make it far easier to tell at a glance. It'd also be nice to be able to see how the various stats are affecting the character+ calculations, so we can weight if it's worth it.
Also, the fact that you have to click an arrow back and forth since you can only show 4 tabs at a time is a source of frustration as well.
Thanks for the game, though. I appreciate the work you've put into it.
Thanks for the feedback! Colors are unfortunately not supported by the game engine and changing these would require a lot of reworking tooltips. The tabs pretty much depend on your resolution I guess, for me it's all 5 on one screen. Glad you enjoyed it(you did, yeah?) but I don't plan on working on it anymore because it was my first try at a game and at this point it's just unmanagable spaghetti code.
First screen is just black with a dot in the corner that lets me go to your credit page. Credit page is black with music note and link at top and goes to a website if I click in the middle.
I'm on Chrome on Windows 10
The balance of players being able to catch the ball has shifted way too much toward the defense. If my players bobble routine passes, so should defenders.
Do defenses get better after winning a Retro Bowl? Receivers that reliably got open downfield now no longer do. Pretty interesting if so, I just wish I knew if it was in my head or not!
I'd say of all the substantial changes to the meta, not being able to attack forward with pawns is a paralyzing one. It's making even level 1 take longer.
I was excited to see new hotfixes, but they are SO dramatic. This is a huge change in how we play the game; I'd love if we could still have the option to use the old control scheme. This is kinda clunky right now.
Couldn't figure it out and gave up after several tries. I really enjoyed the problem-solving aspect, but it felt like the balance was off. And not being able to turn off auto-resource (since oftentimes they will over generate, +5 when you have 1 empty slot) was annoying. Cool game, though, please keep it up!
Was there an update? It's extremely slow now, not stuttering, just like it's half speed in-game. I guess I should view it as good that now I have twice as long to read defenses, but games are going to take forever now and I was doing fine before, haha.
I think it's a pretty cool mechanic, of stealing certain enemies' abilities. Would love to see it more polished, and I echo other comments asking for more choice in how to advance.
I don't love that pass interference is kind of a fact of life for both defense and offense, but I love that New Star is bringing its style of games to football now. I hope you continue to develop it!
Can I recommend that shift-clicking makes the items protected, instead of right-clicking inside of sell-mode? That's like pointing a gun at someone and clicking the right trigger to save their life instead of the left trigger, which kills them
I'm not sure what's going on with attack speed, but with mace I'm no longer seeing an animation, the mace's attack speed is .6ish but the stats show .3?
