I also don't see the reason to start a new city, it's practically just restarting the game. All of my previous upgrades and unlocks are now irrelevant. I did see that you need a second city to unlock the engineer, but I can live with out him.
There needs to be an option to turn off the animation for the city buildings. Once you get to a larger city, it lags real hard. I see no value in it. Sometimes simple is better IMO.
