When I looked in the comments and saw the story, I was actually more motivated to then play the game. The game itself is enjoyable and fun, but it gets old on its own. Knowing that there was purpose and exploration in it brought forth the childlike "What's around the corner??" So please, put the storyline in somewhere! It's a great story that I would love to hear more on.
Nice idea, and Beautiful music. But it's too slow. To be honest, I'd feel more motivated if I could replay levels and get my skills up. So, all in all, solid 3/5
I have it a 4/5 after the first time or so through, but after playing completely through all of the possibilities, definitely a 5/5. It's just amazing the game you've created. I tend to be a bit of a critic against games like this, mostly because they obviously failed at what they wanted, but you were completely successful at your intent. And I loved the little details you put in, like being able to burn the wizard, etc.
Please make more, this wasn't spectacular of a game that was absolutely amazing. It was an enjoyable, origina,l fun game, that has amazing re-playability.
It would be nice if you could change the controls to another key, such as moving the TY to JK, much more comfortable on the hands, and that's where Most games put it.
I'm looking forward to the next game you make because this one was annoying as all hell. It had beautiful music, great artwork, but then it started getting a little irritating how easily you die, if I tap my arrow key and hold it down a millisecond too long, blue boy over here decides to fall down a few too many steps and die. Also the 'death boxes' for the spikes are a little off, I've been killed by spikes as a block was covering them. Last annoyance was when She would jump but He would happily fall to his death, over and over.
Great idea, but the programming had its issues.
I'm sorry, but the when Main element that makes a game unique (The follow the mouse thing) is actually a hindrance there is simply something wrong! I'm finding myself holding it in 'strafe' mode for 90% of the game! I know you're trying to be special but this is just flat out annoying. Couldn't you at least make a secondary option to have the controls be AWSD, gun follows mouse, and the special items are 1.2.3. Double Click?
So, I loved the creation of the game. It was well made, graphics were good, smooth gameplay, basically a well done creative idea. The problem I had with it is that it got boring fast. If you make a good group of guys, then that means you Watch them go through the map a few times, now and then casting a spell to help them along, there wasn't enough to do really! Flip side, you make a fail group, they die, where's the fun? So basically there was just too much time spent Waiting for their slow rears to get to and fro the town
By the time you hit wave 100 on easy, it should say "Congrats you won!", give a Huge XP boost, and end. Because I currently have a set up that nothing can get past (So far nothing has reached farther than about 25% of the track) And I still have 150,000 un-used monies....
