I love the concept, and the animations are brilliant. I especially like the ability to scare people to cartoony deaths. The only complaint is that you can't control which way people run. If I make a bear jump out to the left of them, half the time they run TO the bear instead of away!
Wow, this is surprisingly good. When it first pulled up, I thought "oh no, LongAnimals made an ugly 3D racing game." Now I can't quit playing. The purchasing of improvements is great, but it desperately needs racing music. And back I go to do another race...
I love the art style and the simplistic progression, but there are two glitches that I ran into. As other players have said, the landing gear did not work for me even after I unlocked all items & tricks (first stage). I had to reload the game to get it to work. In that same game, I maxed out the fuel but did not get credit for the last upgrade. Reloading the game and clicking on the purchase-fuel button (with MAX next to it) allowed me to re-buy the upgrade.
Both glitches were extremely frustrating, but otherwise the game is fun.
It's a wonderful series and I'm glad to see more of the point & click games, but this one is oddly shorter than the others. It seems as though it's only 1/3 the proper length. Aside from that, the only downside I noticed was that the mouse animation took too long. The game freezes until the sequence is over, and clicking on it at the wrong times means we have to sit through the same lengthy sequence multiple times. I do wish there was a "skip animation" button when we choose incorrectly.
It's a good game with lots of potential, but there are some flaws to consider for the (hopefully) next version.
1. Some of the stages have confusing goals, such as being off-screen.
2. There are too many outfits to try, and the game urges you to play without even using them. Even if we want to try new costumes, we have to quit back to the menu.
3. Since we can rapidly fire off unlimited dummies, there's little incentive to plan shots.
4. There's not much replay value. Adding unlockable items (other than costumes) may help.
5. There's a wonderful pain meter, and it's useless. Most of the shots have nothing to do with pain at all. It's sadly underused, and gentle shots work better than forceful ones a lot of the time. Considering the lure, creating the most pain would be a better goal than "touch the box."
I gave it 4/5, and that's being generous. I'd love to see another iteration, but tweak it.
Great game. It's short enough to beat in one sitting, has a simple upgrade system, and doesn't punish the players for failing. Plus, the writing is entertaining and poignant. 5/5.
It's a great game once you start getting and upgrading cars, but then the difficulty spikes slam it to a halt, especially in the ice tracks. And, as said before, the opponents are immune to the obstacles (that shouldn't be in the game)... it even appears that the opponents can turn mid-air at times and stop faster.
robotJAM, you're one of my favorite devs here. I'm enjoying this simple, casual game with great art. I have yet to complete the game, but I just hope there aren't any punishing difficulty spikes near the end. Good job.
I'm really enjoying this game. It's one of the best TD games on Kongregate. 5/5. Hopefully the other devs will figure out that replaying for spendable points and multiple upgrades adds fun and replay value.
Bad targeting, and there only seems to be one way to beat the levels. That's a sure sign of difficulty problems. Remember, TD games are supposed to be CASUAL in the early levels. 3/5, and that's being generous. Watch the difficulty.
It's certainly more difficult than "street." I really wish it was more player-friendly in that every failed attempt lowered the building costs slightly for the next attempt at the same level. That way, the player fails but still has an urge to keep trying. It's really something to consider for the next iteration of this fun series.
