I have one suggestion, when searching for an item, there should be a bar that slowly fills up, and as that bar fills up you have a higher chance to find it, so you could find the item immediately, or you if you have horrible luck you can find the item when the bar fills up to 100%
Almost every time I pass I end up shouting at my teammates about how to actually trap a ball correctly and not let it go by you only a foot ahead of you.
