Very solid mechanic and feels good. Great start for an alpha build. Looking forward to a greater variety of enemies, maybe with projectiles or rare faster ones. An explanation of the health regen rate would be nice. Lost one heart and didn't know why or when it was restored. The procedural generation winds up being a mostly big open room at higher levels so you're not getting much variety there yet. Stopped a little after 1000 kills using the rifle.
Strategy 3: Don't be afraid to use the restart arrow repeatedly until you get a favorable starting position. If multiple hexs your tracking are mixed in with non tracked ones its going to be a pain to track with multiple spins and collisions. Look for starting positions where the marked hexes are as separate as possible.
strategy 2: Take your time to allow the initial spots make an impression, and it will be easier to follow. This can be easier or harder depending on whether your in a contrast or low contrast stage. I suspect but can't seem to prove that the black and white background shows up if you have been under performing. I may be reading into it as that would be a pain to program.
Hi DrRed, the backgrounds are completely random, haha, but it did give me an idea. What if we track progress based on backgrounds, and show the backgrounds where a player performs better more frequently. Hmm.
At higher levels a hint is took for groupings that you can track as a single unit at least through part of the level. It makes things a bit luck based in that different staring positions are much easier than others. Interesting and can be a challenging game once you pass level 40 or so. I couldn't imagine playing through without restating any level though. Stuck on 83 at the moment.
Not quite. :D
