I've been playing this game for about three or four days now. I just don't seem to be making enough progress. Overall, the game seems bloated and there's not enough control over the characters I can use. There's too much left to chance, what with the different people to hire and random gear that pops up with trivial stat boosts. This game is a lot like Spider-Man 3... looks great but it's a mess. Is all the micromanagement necessary? Must I have to level up individual characters? It just takes forever. At present, I have only won 33% of the battles I've gotten into. Why? The micromanagement slows things down to a crawl. Again, there's just no progression. Plus, it takes forever to adequately level up the characters during battle. I still haven't beaten the forgotten cavern because the enemies level up faster than my guys. I put them all in the back. They kill all the enemies. Yet it is inevitable. My guys will lose.
Also, there are too many flying enemies. It almost becomes pointless using anything but characters with ranged attacks. That's a balancing issue that this game suffers from. I also don't like how limited my troops are in battle, since I can only choose three at a time. So I'm stuck with three types whereas in previous games, there were no such limitations. I picked whatever types as needed.
The game seems really well made but there are A LOT of typos throughout and leveling up in the game takes a loooo...oooooong time. But it's still great, fun Protector-style gameplay.
Ugh, getting a Brilliant on level 14 is a joke. Yeah, I'm sure it can be done, but there are so many tedious steps one must follow in order to get it done. The boss should just be beaten with five meteors and that's it. I don't know why we have to do extra work (especially in a game that already requires extra work because of all the trial and error) to get in an extra hard hit to make up for the lack of a sixth meteor (or rather, 600 MP).
I think it's just an error in design.
Controls make this unplayable. I select one item and then try to select another and the item ends up on screen. And since there's no Undo button, I have to click Retry. Sorry, that ain't gonna cut it.
I really wish there was a save option a la Bloons Tower Defense 4. There's a lot of trial and error involved in this game. It reminds me a lot of the Protector series. Fun games but lots of trial and error. One screw-up and you have to start aaall over and when you're doing 40 or 50 waves, that becomes downright tedious. Still, a fun game.
The programming in this game needs work or something. The coaster-builder is clunky and the physics is all wrong. It was fun for the first five levels but after that, you start to see why the game has an average score close to 3.
I beat everything in this game and I still can't get that World Conqueror achievement. Are there some hidden cities or something?
And is there no way to save after beating The Abyss?
How am I supposed to know that these shells go on these pedestals? How am I supposed to know I can use the hammer to break locks? I shouldn't have to try every item on everything in order to find out.
Use a coin on that door in the cemetery... really? How the heck was I supposed to know that? The sign up top could've been anything. I like these games but the puzzles in this one need work.
Beautiful game to look at (though the animation of the characters is a little wooden). But too many typos. Also, there's only, like, one puzzle in the whole game. Finally, the story itself is a little, I don't know... uninspired or unoriginal. But keep working at it. This has great potential.
