In the tutorial level, there is no information that the lasers will kill you, or that those even are lasers. I thought they were the goal and ran into them. If anything, put them nearer the start so that that long winding road serves some purpose, and so that when people die, they don't have to play the whole level again. Or you could just add checkpoints to each level, or the option to undo a move after death.
Furthermore, in Chrome, the game doesn't take up the full space allotted on the page.
Thank you for your feedback, we will try to improve the tutorial. We are working on Chrome version as Chrome does not support Unity Player any more. Did you play next levels or the tutorial was too annoying ?
The music was kind of an odd choice by my perspective at the time (since the more conventional choice would have been to acquire or create a slower, much more ambient soundtrack), but when I was hearing Classical pieces coming out of a C-64 game music collection, I just HAD to run with it. It was nevertheless, quite nice to let the game run in the background and listen while working.
An "undo" button is very, VERY required.
Also, with the rotation mechanic, it's impossible to tell if a number is a 6 or a 9.
As spaz102 said, there is no point to the rotation of the nodes. Replace the circular shape of each node with either a + or a x, depending on what it connects to. The goal can be a circle, since once you get to the goal, you don't need to go anywhere else. This will greatly clarify the game and hence the instructions
It looks like you're generating the levels randomly instead of creating them yourself. While I understand that it's faster to do so, constructing them by hand will greatly raise the quality of your work, as well as give a much larger difficulty range, as opposed to generated puzzles, which often contain pointless nodes (which nobody would ever jump to) and, in general, have their difficulty determined solely by their size.
If you would like an example of a hand-constructed puzzle, to further clarify this point, please PM me.
Hi eddriofer, I would like to thank you for your return. I agree with you on many points. I'm working on a totally new version of the game, wiht a more intuitive gameplay, with a better and more intuitive user interface, and better levels (with less pointless nodes). Thanks again.
OK, just finished the game. Of this game, I shall lament the same things I lament of all good puzzle games: Why are they all so short?!
A suggestion: The "UGH" sound that the dwarf makes whenever he can't move in a direction gets VERY annoying. So does the "walking" sound. You should add the ability to completely mute all sounds, not just music.
Other than these two points, a perfectly solid game that should really be ranked much higher on Kongregate.
This game feels like it could have been created by Alan Hazelden (creator of Sokobond, These Robotic Hearts Of Mine, and A Good Snowman Is Hard To Build), by the way. You might want to get in touch with him.
Thanks for a honest review!
Sorry for the game being short. I was done on purpose. I decided to finish short game, rather not release at all big ambitious game. Hope my next game will be bigger and better!
Very good game, with a neat concept and rather frustrating (in a good way) game mechanics. Everything else seems well-executed, too. I'm currently stuck on level 17 though.
Two big problems with this game: 1. Difficulty curve is non-existent, especially for the easy levels. 2. A good number of levels have non-unique solutions, which make the puzzles less elegant.
Dammit, why are the good puzzle games always so short? The gameplay was fantastic and unique, though I now have an idea; what if there where white voids as well as dark voids?
Just so it's clear for everyone, nodes can be placed ANYWHERE on the grid; not just where nodes already exist. Also, connections will form by themselves.
1. Does anyone else think there's the possibility that Christina turns into her own mother? 2. Surely there have got to be some universes where no-one travels back in time, right?
Nice game; usually all the other RE games I play end up with me trying to search up a walkthrough. 5/5
@rp17 Eh, I got it in 10:14 with all the rubies.
I don't see how anyone can get stuck on a corner; that bug doesn't work for me. And how exactly can we "not move properly"? Not-so-original concept, but the only game I've found with one like this. 5/5.
@Raz22 Hey, the same thing happened to me on the Robo-children level! ?lvl=18&code=c12:4f3;c12:5f3;c12:6f3;c12:8f3;c12:9f3;c12:10f3;c12:11f3;p9:7f3;p10:7f3;p11:7f3;p12:7f3;p13:7f3;p14:7f3;p15:7f3;c12:3f3;c8:7f0;c7:7f1;c7:6f1;c7:5f2;p15:5f4;p15:4f4;p15:3f4;p15:2f4;c16:7f2;c17:7f1;c17:6f1;c17:5f0;c16:5f0;c15:6f3;c9:6f3;p9:2f6;p9:3f6;p9:4f6;p9:5f6;c8:5f2;
This has been one of the most challenging, yet beatable games for me. In all sincereness, this game is so good that if I could rate it 6 stars, I would. Original, ambient, and just at the right level to please. Only problems with this game are, as many people have said before, the scrolling is very laggy.5/5. PS for those who want the Union Jack instead of the Stars and Stripes: Not many of us care, so stop voicing your opinions. If you still want to, why don't you check the ratings of the other people who campaigned for this? PPS for those who gave up: Here's an idea; GET SOME BRAINS. Patience, too.
