Nice game. Didn't need max upgrades to beat it though. Fire Rare and Weapon are clearly king, followed closely by Magnetism (need money to get upgrades after all). Move Speed 5 was all I needed for the ship to follow my mouse with no discernible lag. Life was only bought as needed to pass a level and 7 was enough here for even the last boss.
Speaking of, the Last Boss didn't do anything in the last stage except spawn two decoys which were instagibbed by spread shots from my max powered up fighter. Boss itself didn't last much longer as it just sat there and ate my firepower, as if it had just given up any hope of beating me.
I think Vasanti is an awesome storyteller given how he managed to make the reveal such an emotional gut punch in a comedic series like this one and still have it feel completely immersive and natural.
Also good puzzle design. I like how he sprinkled little mini-questionnaires into the investigation phases. They're not hard, but they make sure the player is actually paying attention to the storyline and not just skipping past all the dialogue while also keeping things interesting.
Found a bug. After turning the color orb white, I removed one of the glowflies. The whole room went grey and now I only have a bottle of red glowflies and two empty vials. The yellow and blue glowflies are gone and I can't turn the room white any more.
Hi, weird engine glitch, this can't happen because of the code. If you can go to the spot where you found the yellow and blue lightbugs and use the empty vials there, you should get them back though.
LOL on...
Human Guinea Pig: "Wouldn't it be easier to just give a test on the computer or something?"
Alien: "Hmm, yes it would. MAYBE WE JUST DID THAT?"
Screw boarding. With 3 top end ships with maxed out guns and plenty of money for the most expensive ammo available, I sank the final boss before my third ship could even start firing. The boss certainly didn't get off any shots. Frankly, I was more challenged by the Level 26 random encounters.
For people with fuel issues, here's a hint: Don't COMPLETELY clear out all the dirt as you dig down. Using your laser on even empty dirt will refuel you.
Hahaha a story comment! I really liked it haha. Thanks for playing and for this little story. :D
